  1. I can appreciate the time and effort gone into it but yeah... that's definitely a kind way to describe it hahaha.
  2. I honestly don't know about the window but that's what other people have told me to try. I've just left it though because it doesn't really bother me all that much, as long as they do up and stay up they can dance around all they like in the meantime I would definitely reseal the window and see if that helps, you don't want any rust to start up! Good luck with your exhaust!
  3. I doubt people would notice, you would because you'd be looking for it. It'll fade in in no time though, I can't see my lettering anymore and that was only done in August. Worth a shot.
  4. It's sorted, it was just some brake dust apparantly, they've cleaned them up and it's all quiet now.
  5. I am a bit late but I had this problem with my arosa very recently, just one of the tyres would lose about 5psi literally a week after i'd filled it. I'm sure you've checked but unless there's no slow puncture (I highly doubt anyway in all 4 of your tyres, that'd be really unlucky.) You probably just need a new valve on it. They cleaned mine up and put a new valve on free of charge for me and it's sorted it out. You probably have the same problem. Good luck with it! OH! I just read a few posts up you think your valves are ok, duhh haha I look stupid now. Otherwise reseal the tyres? Give them a general refurb, won't cost much.
  6. Have you tried a new motor for the window? Lots and lots of arosas/lupos have this problem unfortunately. Mine has very tempermental windows, the passenger only works some days, my drivers window is really tempermental and goes up half way before going back down again. Takes a few goes. You'll hear all kinds of window stories from fellow lupo/arosa drivers haha. They are strange electrical faults. I haven't really looked into the solution because I can cope with mine but i'm guessing new window motors. The windscreen you probably just need new seals. Are you sure it's the windscreen because sometimes it can leak through the door seals? The passenger footwell in my old car used to soak (there was even some sort of grass growing in there under the carpet LOL) After spending ages looking underneath and getting a fair few mechanics to check over to find nothing and be a bit clueless about it, turned out it was the door seal that just needed replacing. Not sure with the exhaust, is it just the backbox hanging? You could try and cable tie it for the time being if you're worried until you get a more permanent solution. I'm not sure but it's probably just the bracket that holds the backbox on is a bit dodgey? I'm sure someone here will have a more educated guess than me. I doubt any of these will be overly expensive to get done at a garage, they're only little niggles.
  7. I did wonder but I thought it looked a bit tall to be a corsa unless it's the angle of the photo. I can't tell if the body just looks really chunky because of the ridiculous sized rims they've put on it. It has aspects of loads of cars in it, my first thought looking at the headlights alone I thought it was one of the facelift mk4 fiestas but I can't tell. I was just looking through flickr because they have some gorgeous cars very nicely photographed but of course a few nasty surprises mixed in too. I found this aswell: http://bit.ly/1cyvekM Yiiikes.
  8. Now i'm not one to judge peoples cars, to each their own and all... but what in the world is this under here? An audi perhaps? http://www.flickr.com/photos/vongerman/3701221761/

    Stickerbombing

Sorry to drag this post up but since you didn't get an answer, you know you can use whatever stickers you want and just put coats of lacquer over them?
  10. I think just the type would be better than the little picture, then it's the best for all worlds, lupos, lupo gtis, arosas, sports.
  11. Well i'm glad i'm not the only one having embarrassing situations in the petrol station. I had to queue in there to pay and I absolutely stank of petrol & looked like i'd weed myself!!! Haha! My old fiesta, the last time I went before I scrapped it the key snapped clean off in the petrol cap! I gotta ask though, how did you get the smell out?? It won't come out my clothes. It had never happened like that though, it used to click constantly and when I held it a certain way that'd be it and it'd click when it was full no matter what. I just assumed I was holding it right the first time round this time so wasn't really paying attention and was waiting for the click! I will add this to their list of things to do tomorrow, i'm already getting them to check my brakes, check the engine bay for a squeaky belt and now this. Might aswell get it all done while i'm there, poor guys are gonna be in need of a break after i'm done there haha.
  12. Haha ok, will keep an eye out for it.
  13. If you're going for a debadge grill aswell, £10-20 on ebay. Not sure about the mk1s but apparantly the grills on a lot of cars simply clip in and out, not sure from experience because I sprayed mine black instead. Should be an easy job though.
  14. Spartan has a point, I can't see that shade of blue could be too badly faded. Red's are definitely pretty bad with the fading. My bodywork colour doesn't look faded at all, it had been garaged practically all it's life but the obvious fading when I took the letters off was pretty bad.
  15. Looks good, really like the black lupos. Is it lowered at all? Looks subtle & nicely done.
  16. I really hope you're right!! Lovely lupo btw!
  17. Arghhhh, I think I am gonna need the luck. I got a few mechanics to look over it before I bought it and they gave it the all clear but the last few months have just seemed neverending with wear & tear problems. When I first got the discs they were clean obviously and they seemed to stay clean for a while (and quiet !!!) What possibly could've happened in a few weeks to just make it start screeching and stop the pads wiping the rust off? The pads can't have just stopped working and the calipers must be pressing down enough on them because i'm not having any trouble stopping the car?
  18. Sorry can't think of the proper name. Whenever I put petrol in my car, no matter which petrol station I go to, it'll either click every few litres as if it's telling me it's full or it won't click at all. It depends how I hold it, it's a bit temperamental I guess? Last time I filled at BP I usually fill until it clicks but it didn't click at all and all the petrol came exploding back out my car all over me. Er.. embarrassing. Sometimes I can hold it right and it'll click when it's full as a normal car does. Is there anything I can do to fix it or is this another big jobby?
  19. There is surface rust already, they're looking a bit browny. I live in a seaside town, I believe living by the sea doesn't help rust with the salt in the air. It is not bad but they're not silver and shiny like they once were. I would go take a picture if it was light out but they are looking quuuite brown. Strangely when I was driving a few days ago, I broke and there was an awful noise like something dislodged a bit but it sounded REALLY bad, I can't describe it. I went to take it straight to a friend of mine who's a mechanic but he said he'd have to hear them and by the time I get anywhere they're quiet again so I thought it'd be pointless and booked it back in with the guys who fitted them. I thought maybe something had dislodged because it was relatively quiet after that then but I get in it the next day and it's just as bad when I first start driving. Once they warm up it is a bit quieter than what it was but no major difference when I first get in it. There isn't any pulling, everything feels perfectly normal when it drives, it just sounds like before I got the brakes done, the metal on metal scraping sound. I do trust this garage though, they're all very nice guys and have done a lot of little things for free for me and they knocked a bit off the labour costs on the pads & discs. If they mention buying a new caliper though i'll just ask em to clean it for now.
  20. Do you have any idea what it could be? Obviously i'm taking her back anyway tomorrow but it seems a mystery to me. Maybe they're sticking and need some grease as you mentioned. I think my alternator belts making some noise aswell so tomorrow won't be so fun.
  21. Have you tried putting a new battery in? They don't last forever whether the alternators working top notch or not.
  22. Take it back, tell em your concerns and get them to give it a whizz round the block or something and listen for themselves. If you're worried you could always let someone else take a look, a lot of garages if you just pull in and they're free of work will have a check over things quickly for free.
  23. Yes I had slight bodywork colour differences too where the lettering came off, I could see the letters close up but I think mine have just faded in with the rest of the car now. They will fade in time. Mine came without the bumper strips, whether somebody took them off or what, idk. What will you do if there's massive colour difference when you take the strips off?
  24. I bought my 'rosa 25th July this year so I am still getting used to the car really. A friend of mine checked over the car and told me it'd need brake pads, took it to a garage a month or so later and the pads had completely worn down and made a big groove in the discs so I had to get new ones. My own fault for leaving it so long. All was fine for a few weeks after the new discs/pads were in. Then they started that screeching squeaking noise. I left it thinking they'd just eventually bleed in and they just haven't and the noise is there. When they're cold they're very noisy but as they warm up they end up silent which is what I don't understand. I've done nearly 1k since I got them changed. I've booked it into a garage for tomorrow, they reckon they're just dirty and probably need a clean up which they're going to do for free for me. Anyone else experienced this or have any idea what it might be? It can't be the pads burning into the discs again surely? The pads still look thick. Someone told me some cars are just a bit squeaky with their brakes and maybe it's an arosa thing but it seems a bit off to me.
