  1. My old mk4 fiesta got to 110k and still ran perfect and on the same gearbox from new but the bodywork well & truly had it ha! I'd like to get my rosa over 100k, at about 59k so far so still ages to go. The most i've ever seen was when I was in the garage, a taxi driver had a mondeo in that was nearing 300k.
  2. Is a paperclip strong enough to grip them though when you pinch them? And is it best to go through underneath like in your pic? I reckon a pointed pair of tweezers could grip them underneath like that. I have heard people mainly going down the sides to pop them out so have been trying it like that. Didn't know if that'd damage anything going from underneath?
  3. Might have to look into buying some really thin tweezers if I can find any.. These proper tools would do wouldn't they? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191256004127?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  4. Tried my tweezers but they're not thin enough to fit all the way down either side of the pin. I basically need to just find something small enough to fit either side of the pin and pinch together and it should release right?
  5. Hi all, swapping lupo lights onto my mk2 arosa and I cannot for the life of me get the pins out the connector. I've folded back the little cover, i've tried a tiny screwdriver to wiggle the wires, i've tried gently hammering the screwdriver behind the wires.. nothing is shifting, i've been trying for ages now. It is infuriating.Any ideas?
  6. I really want some plain ones for mine.
  7. Is there anyway I can hold back lacquer bubbling on the roof or get rid of completely without getting a respray? They're absolutely tiny small white dots, not even really bubbles just like tiny little white specks. The biggest is about the size of a pin head bang in the middle. Only just noticed them recently, they seem to be covering the roof pretty quick not really sure where they've suddenly come from. I really don't want the lacquer to start peeling on the roof if I can help it, is there anyway I can somehow restore them or at least slow the process? It's just passed mot with no advisories yesterday so it's in really good shape & i'd like to keep the paintwork in similar condition. The only other place the lacquer's peeling is the wing mirrors & one tiny part on the bonnet.
  8. I am gonna try scrappy once more and pm'd HDH otherwise Lupoboz or VW.
  9. I have this same problem in my 01 Arosa S. It worked 70% of the time when I bought the car a year ago but doesn't really work now. It worked for the first time in a while at the start of the week but has decided to stop again, seems better in the warmer weather somehow . Would love to know if you find a solution.
  10. Not sure what you're asking about the 'door locking knob' The electrics on arosa's are just a bit dodge. I can't undo my passenger window from the drivers side and the drivers window as I push the button to send it up, it goes back down a few times, have to proper mess about with it loads to get it to go back up. Not sure on the solution to their electrics, it's never bothered me enough to look into it, but at a guess since yours is just slow it might just need a new electric window motor.

Hairdryer to melt the glue, don't aim it on one spot for ages you'll bubble the paint. Then people use floss or something very thin to get in behind the letters and pop them off. I used thin cardboard after melting the glue a bit, did the same job. Then just rubbed off the excess glue with a cloth and that was that. Didn't need any product on mine to get the residue off.
  12. Is that the price direct from VW? I was going to ring them tomorrow and just see what price it is otherwise go to scrapyard and see if they have any lupo's in. £26 is a bit more than I wanted to pay for just the holders, I would rather buy a new pair of lights for not much more than that since the ones I have have blue paint on the bottom and obviously unsure whether they leak or something hence the water damage on the holders. The lowest i've found is £20 for the holders so far so I will pass on your offer but tyvm for finding out for me.
  13. He was "unaware of their condition" but for some mysterious reason doesn't want them back and just gave me the money back, I even offered him pictures to prove I was being honest but he didn't want to see them. Whoever's had them has literally doused the pins in wd40, I assume to try sort out the water damage so I think he must've been aware to some degree. Maybe I should've guessed at paying £18 for the pair but he assured me they were all fully functioning. Don't want to spend anymore money on this lol i've been so unlucky . Trouble is everyone sells the rear lights on as they are, rarely breaking them up. A set of holders on ebay if bought singley would be about £26 (not that I can see a os & ns on there) Which seems pointless since a new set of lights aren't much off that hence why i'm aiming to get them £20 or less otherwise i'd just buy a new set of lights altogether. I can't see any cracks on the actual cases so hopefully they're not the cause of the water damage.
  14. Thankyou! Don't mean to sound like a cheapskate but i've spent enough on these lights! Haha just want them fitted now I'm also messaging some people breaking lupes on ebay but will post here if I find anything.
  15. I just bought a pair of lupo lights on ebay and as we went to fit took out the bulb holders to find they were uhh... unfittable. See picture.. lol. So I have the rear light cases but no bulb holders now and can't find a *pair*? There's only really single sides on ebay. Ideally would like to spend about £20 or less, if that's not too unrealistic. Not too bothered about second hand or new if the price is right, just after some good condition ones.
  16. Lovely! Debadging makes such a huge difference! You gonna swap the lights to lupo's or keep the standards?
  17. It's your car you've gotta do what you like If it's a first car though and you're a new driver check with insurance before you lower it, don't want to lower and then find they won't insure it or will add on loads of £££.
  18. Wait for the bimmer and see which one is your favourite and go from there. You'll probably have no problem selling the 3l now or in 5 years no matter what you decide.
  19. I could lie and say yes but I didn't do it myself haha I won a competition and a bodyshop took it away for a few days and did it. Never expected them to come out as nice as they have mind. They were really badly deeply scuffed in places, don't think it could've just been a quick sand down diy jobby. I imagine they've had to fill them in parts. They've repainted them with a slightly lighter silver than what it was and moved the balancers on the inside of the alloy, just looks so much cleaner. Think I will keep the standards on it tbf and just tidy it up.
  20. Welcome! Those 3L's are insane, 80.5mpg certainly smashes my 32mpg haha!
  21. Amazing what can be done with a battered old set of alloys... it's the only thing i've hated about the car since I bought it. They're sparkling now! Literally cannot believe the transformation.
  22. You not got the manual? It'll be in there Otherwise ring up Seat with your reg, they will know for sure.
  23. Not sure to be honest but if you're after matt black wings like the ones on the auction you'd save yourself a bit of cash buying some plasti-dip and spraying the ones you've got on it. It's about £11 a can I think and it dries as a vinyl coat which you can peel off anytime or if you make any mistakes. & it's really easy to use. Can get loads of colours. Just an idea since it'll be much cheaper than those, that right one looks a bit scuffed aswell. http://plastidip.co.uk/eStore/index.cfm?type=Home_Solutions/PlastiDip&stage=1&menu=0
