  1. No the clip is on the lock barrel itself. You pull the barrel out as far as it will go and the clip is on the barrel
  2. Yes, the collar clip is tricky to get off, especially if you don't want it to fly off and fall down a drain. Would be easier with two pairs of hands. If you have a very thin spanner this might help get it off easily.

  6. Sounds like it's possessed. Is it raining a lot where you are ? Some sort of electrical fault, possibly caused by water ingress. But I don't know where the electronics are that control the locks and hazard lights.

  8. I don't think the OEM tweeters are very good, my replacements are marginally better. Anyone else experience the annoying distortion of high pitched consonents?
  9. The OEM speakers are secured using rivets and are a pain to remove, but they are 6.5 inches. Once you've knocked out the rivets the 6.5 inch speaker will fit but you'll have to find a new way of securing the new speakers. You can use an MDF ring and bolts to secure to the old rivet holes and screw your new speakers into.

  11. Assuming it's the same as a Lupo you have to remove some large Torx screws that are behind the rear light clusters and lots of Torx screws around the rear wheel arch.
  12. Yes, that's the same problem I had. I changed just the faulty switches for a brand new one and it worked ok.
  13. The first test I would do is to disconnect the drivers side switch. If the passengers switch starts working properly then you know it's probably the drivers switch. You can replace just one switch from the drivers side but it has to be for the drivers side, the passenger side switch is different.
  14. Forgot toe mention the EPC light can be as simple as a brake light being broken
  15. To access the switch remove the upper door panel. Prise the door grab handle cover off and undo the two screws beneath. Then the upper door card will pull off. You can disconnect or push through the switches from below. Disconnect one switch and try the other, then visa-versa. If either of them works with other disconnected then you know which one is faulty. If it still doesn't work then might be part of the mechanism
  16. Electronic Power Control, it's includes all of the "drive-by-wire" stuff including throttle and brakes. Not sure why MAP sensors etc are included too.
  17. Yes you should get it checked out. The EPC light could mean anything though, it just means the engine management computer detected a problem. Is your Emissions light coming on too? You'll need to get someone with the laptop and software to decode the error message for you and see what needs doing. Garages usually charge £20 if you can't find someone local who can do it for you. Alternatively buy the cable from eBay and install the free version of VCDS and check the error yourself. I had a problem with the MAP sensor and it turned out to be the brake servo vacuum pipe needed replacing.

  20. It's certainly not on all Lupos, my 2k1 for example lacks ABS. This thread has information on the standard options: http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/62657-information-lupo-model-specification-guide/ It says the ABS was added to all Lupos later on, approximately 2003.
  21. The ball joint has a rubber/plastic cover on it to keep dust out and grease in. If it gets cracked it's only a problem if it lets dirt in. If it's just a hairline fracture you could patch it up from the outside to try and stop it getting worse, some people say use superglue. If you can do the job yourself then change the boot. If the crack is open and letting dirt in you can either change it now or wait until it causes problems. If you have to pay someone else to do it then you might as well just replace the joint and get it sorted properly all in one go.

  23. Try disconnecting the drivers switch and using the passenger switch and then try it the other way around.
