So after only 6 months of Lupo ownership, my beloved Taff Green 1.4 S has suffered a gearbox failure! Cost to get it fixed is going to be more than I can afford so she's off to VW Valhalla unless I can find someone to buy it as it is. Seems silly but I'm really cut up that she has to go. As modest as she was she'll be up on my wall of fame for years to come. So in tribute to "Loopy Loop" (as my 4 year old christened her), here's some crappy phone pics that I never got round to posting.

Sad day last week when my beloved Lupo 1.4 S decided to start making a nasty noise. Local garage have told me it needs a new gearbox and unfortunately that's out of my budget at the moment. Car will be advertised online at the end of the week but I thought I'd give everyone on here first dibs. Make: Volkswagen Model: Lupo 1.4 S Year: 1999 Mileage: 81070 MOT: Dec 2015 TAX: N/A Engine size: 1.4 Fuel type: Petrol Description: VW Lupo 1.4S Taffeta Green. Apart from the gearbox was a sound little runner with no problems. Full service history up until around 70K (will double check), new battery and alternator fitted about 6 months ago. Clean and tidy for a 16 year old car, black front and rear badges, debadged tailgate, dewipered. Could be a bargain for someone who fancies rebuilding/replacing a gearbox, if not a good source of spares. Car starts with no problems. All gears can be selected at the moment but I don't think this will last. Front tyres are less than 6 months old with about 3,000 miles on them. Spotted and followed a tidy looking blue, T plate Lupo today on my way back from work on the A5 southbound in Milton Keynes. Belong to any members on here? Would be interested to know how you've dropped the suspension on it. (Springs & Dampers, Coilies,mm's dropped) That's about the look I'm after. Noticed it was de-badged and de-wipered. Any other mods on it? Slightly embarrassed that my Taff Green machine was a bit on the dirty side but appreciated the nod as you passed me.

Just a quick post to say hello from MK. Have just bought a 1.4 S on a T reg as a second car to get me to work and back. Car is completely standard with 78K on the clock. F(VW)SH, Cam belt done and lots of receipts for general work over the years. Hoping she will be a reliable little runner and maybe a little weekend project when the weather picks up. After years of big, "practical" diesels it's nice to be back in something small, basic and surprisingly nippy. It's like being 17 again! Have used the forum a lot for information already and will hopefully be adding some pictures.
