  1. £80 from MSW. perhaps someone might consider fitting them into the bumper to make functioning ducts for cooling of the brake system. wouldnt fancy it myself as i dont want to change bodywork. but its quite possible that it could work, with neaoprene flexi ducting attached from inside vents routed to the brake discs/calipers. i expect it would be quite tricky to sort out though. actually now i have looked at it again, the vent doesnt force any air through, unless it was rotated to face the other way, darn it. any way brake ducting a good idea. i looked to see where i could run tubing but there isnt anywhere on a normal gti front bumper to do it from.
  2. i think its a lot better than a normal fox. but that is mainly because i think the normal fox is very poor effort from vw. in fact zero effort.
  3. i did see while on ebay, i didnt like the look of what looks like a break or split which has been covered in Gun Gum type gunk. or modified in some type of way, the bends are good and mandrel type near the exit, but then look at the other side and the bore size is crimped down. doesnt make sence.
  4. i thought all coilover kits were adjustable ride height.
  5. raidHP do one. look on ebay they sell them there.
  6. for 8" wheel 195/45/14 is stretched over permitted width already on normal brand tyres. that would be my point.
  7. "Unfortunately, due to fraudulent use of the Rare Rims E-Commerce site, we can no longer accept card payments online." i have asked them how payment can be made but it doesnt inspire confidence.
  8. Peugeot= perrzheow? with an italian accent, trying to speak french slowly. while waving hands expressively.
  9. it is if you are bouncing off the rev limiter in top gear. to confirm the 142mph speed you could look at what RPM your doing and calculate through the gear ratio/wheel size what speed you were doing as a back up. though there is still the issue of was it on the flat or not.
  10. i must note that since i have had the kit replaced a rattle i once had has now gone. if this is connected to the timing kit i am relieved, and maybe there is a play that develops in the tensioners, that can not be seen visibly. so you know what. 40k miles dudes. it will be done.
  11. i could probably go through a long list of car stats to confirm it, here is just 1 example, a 170bhp cooper s tops out at 138mph. it would need a lot more bhp to get to 142mph. edit: in fact to make the point the jcw cooper s has 210bhp at that tops at 143mph. so as i said before you need about 200bhp to get to 142mph.
  12. i havent tried to go into 3 figures in my gti. i would be very suprised if you could really get the speed you mentioned. it may have been on a slight downhill aswell. and with a strong tail wind. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  13. nice pics. must have been good to see/hear.
  14. that baby animation is brilliant. shame about the flashy text and bad spelling.
  15. but obviously there will be a sport version , which could look like this. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
  16. oh i got a topgear near me. will look into it,. i do want some light weight wheels.
  17. tesco is 99 for the super version. but its get the high octane from an ethanol mix which is not so good for the engine as the other high octane fuels.
  18. i have a 1600gti. top speed is about 130mph. and you probably just about get that speed on a fast Uk track.
  19. i will get some myself if its £399 for a set. theres a few i like on there.
  20. well to simplify without going into which fuel is better and with what additives etc. BP ultimate is only 97 octane so the gti will run on reduced output as it requires 98 octane or more. v-power is 99.
  21. looks about right price for a set of 4, but it shows a unit price of 1... in which case they dont deserve to sell any wheels. i have been looking at alloy prices in america they are crazily cheap. top design ultra light wheels for about £45 each.
  22. the police said he came quietly. hehehe.
  23. i think the lesson is not to use mytyres fitting option. i bet you your garage didnt supply those dunlops tyres for 1 penny cheaper than mytres would have done. they can supply a lot of tyres cheaper than official uk trade distributors buy them for, for certain brands, including toyo.
  24. yes that is not correct from the road angel. you need nearly 200bhp to get that speed.
  25. i will also say i am happy for you. if it appeared otherwise.
