  1. Lack of competition???? AMD, bicester SuperChips, buckingham Morego (Ex BBR), brackley Custom Code, ???? All the aftermarket ECU/piggyback ECU manufacturers Pectel, MBE, UniChip etc Most of these places can do a 'Custom Map' for you if you ask. And that is just UK based, have a hunt around on german websites. There is loads of stuff to be done to managment systems, you just have to pay for it...... the more you pay the more you get (as always). Generally its just that the first few people always get a share of the development costs, which I think is fair enough as the tuning companies don't know how many they will sell.

    VW 16" Monzas

HAHA VW and there wheelie strange designs! Hmm ...is 15mm not too thin for adaptors, sounds like there is not enough meat to make the plate strong enough if you know what i mean.

So it is going to be a hub change if its possible at all, really hope the hubs are interchangable. why do they make different stud patterns for the Lupo/Polo compared to the Golf? Is there a reason for this or is it just one of those things? You cant say Monza without saying Mmmmmm!

    VW 16" Monzas

Anyone know if there is a 4 stud (Lupo) to 5 stud (Golf) wheel adaptor for sale anywhere and if so has anyone had any probs with them. Not too sure if I like the idea of an adaptor or not, sounds a bit dodgy! Just want those Monza's so bad.

Cheers for the pointers, looks like I'll be off to the dealers pretty soon. Hope this all works out and I can get it done. Thanks for the help.

    VW 16" Monzas

Hmmm, think I am entering a strange new world of big money and still not being sure if they will fit. What do you think the best way to proceed would be... any specialists I could try??

Would replacing the hubs be straight forward one off one on or am I in for a world of pain here? non standard VW parts etc... I want those wheels sooooo bad!!

    VW 16" Monzas

Sorry for being another wheel enquiry but......... Can I fit VW "Monza" 16" from a new style Polo GTi to a Loop GTi ? I really fancy these wheels but know nothing about them. I will be getting a healthy Chri**mas bonus this year and wondered how much they would cost and the feasability of fitting them.
  13. Remove the ashtray insert and its under there.
  14. Is this sounding like a rant, if so apologies but IMO..... Stick with the standard airbox and just replace the panel filter with a K&N or something similar. Car companies spend loads of money developing a good intake system, would they really spend all this money if a cone shaped filter and some air ducting were better? Straight forward panel filter replacement, saves you cash because its reusable so not like the VW paper ones (thats where they make their money!) and gives a v.small power gain (possibly).

    fin aerials

Got my new ae today, going to try it tonight and see if I like it coloured black or whether to get it painted. EDIT*Hmm just thought painting it will make the reception worse.* Also I suspect I will have to rewire the coax connector, shouldn't be to much of a nightmare though.

  17. Cool sounds like another little job for next month, thanks for the info.
  18. Quote Fitted me an Aero wiper today: Best £19 i've spent on the car i reckon! It's a Polo wiper and it fits my car better than it fits my sisters Polo!! Si. Looks really good, yet another OE 'mod' I really want to do to mine. What part no is it or could I just ask for a rear Polo aero wiper at the stealers? was it easy to fit? Sorry for all the questions, but looks really good!

    VW Cup

Hmm the weather looks rubbish!! Not too sure if the missus is going to be up for standing around in the rain all day? Fingers crossed the weather gets better huh?
  20. Guess I am a victim of living vaguely near London (prices) because VW in Reading quoted £600 for the Cam belt alone! Conversation post VW servicing and picking up the keys ......... Servicing Dept guy "You should really get it changed every 4 years" Me "But its done just under 20K miles" Servicing Dept guy " Hmmmm well it might have perished, you really should change it" Me "Errrrrr, I think I'll try somewhere else in a few thousand miles time, Cheers" Looking back at it now, surely they would have noticed if the cam belt was damaged! Hmm guess its upt north for servicings from now on!
  21. Good idea I like it. Lots of good ideas nets, trays etc so far. Not too sure if I fancy glovebox fit just yet though. Please keep the ideas coming.
  22. Saw this news on the TV this morning! Hope the guy is OK and makes a total recovery.
  23. If they work on race car thats all very well and good, but do you really need that much cooling on road cars brakes? I'm more into tuning than styling too and am all for seeing the technology filter down from motorsport to roadcars but it should be technology thats actually required for the cars purpose not just fitted for the sake of it. Found some pics of Ferrari brake ducts here Ferrari's New Brake Ducts Look a bit like those full face Ronal's a few people have huh?
  24. did I really just see that or did someone give me a wafer thin mint! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sick.gif" /> Hmm like you say a bit sales rep!
  25. Sounds like your door hinges have dropped, I have the same problem its just i haven't got round to fixing it yet..... one of many jobs for me to do I guess!
