I wanted to know if the crankshaft in a ARC (polo GTI) is stronger than the AVY (lupo GTI)? I've heard that the ARC crankshaft was somewhat forged? but can't find any information online. If both crankshafts are the same, what would people recommend as a alternative stronger crankshaft? As I was think a diesel crank from a 1.7 SDI would be strong enough to withstand a turboed 1.6 GTI. Any help would be appreciated

running 13's on my lupo sport, all i needed was spacers to clear front and rear calipers... camber my rears and front (easy enough to do) to fit the tread under the arches (13s, 7J, ET0, 18mm spacer) .... no rolled arches, cups out, cut my bumpstops... hardly any arch gap looks amazing and is really low!!!

cups out, cut bump stops (to get a little lower without knocking) or remove them (will get alot of knocking tho), think FK silverline spring (correct me if wrong) or corsa spring go really low, if you swap them

Few pictures of my lupo, thoughts? The Alloys i have on my car atm (got new centre caps which are flush and flat, just getting them resprayed but like the two colour effect atm ) Mt White BBS alloys... My central exhuast, had it removed though (have a new rear bumper now, which is spotless)

Cheers for the help and im slowly saving, got £200 but i rather buy good secondhand coilovers than cheap new coilovers like TA or JOM which are rubbish on comfortability (from what i hear)

How much do you want for the coilovers

i didnt think so but ive been looking for cheap coilovers on ebay since i only got £100 available to use and theres no secondhand coilovers for lupos, only polos so i thought maybe they may fit.. Always worth asking

Tbh i only heard from the mot tester in my work place that it might fit, i wanted to check before i start researching about it.... And your are right, i only got half the money for the engine, but to keep it safe ill just add a 1.4 lupo sport engine since i use my car everyday to get to work, I dont want a big project..

Gutted just looks like too much work and i use the car on a daily bases, just heard from someone that a tsi engine would slide in without any changes... Was looking forward to turbo charging my car

Has anyone tried putting a 1.4 golf tsi engine into a lupo? How hard is it to do? And will the engine mounts need to be changed?

Dw i dont intend to majorly modify my lupo ... I have got plans to drop a 1.4 sport engine next year but im just looking for a resolution for the moment. Defcon5 i dont mind the revs but i mind the cars trialing behind mine

Cheers defcon5 ... The meow sound comes when im goin between 30-60mph and it comes randomly ... Doesnt happen when i go over bumps or anything

Wouldnt go to a 1.4 this early, im 18 and have owned 3 cars had my license for a 1 year... Have nearly a years no claims and im getting quotes close to £3000 and with my 1.0 lupo im paying £2000 hopefully youll get it cheaper than i did

Ok to make it short, i live in a area where theres lots of hills, and when it comes to going up them in my 1.0 lupo it doesnt pull and starts to drop speed unless i over rev it in a really low gear. Any ideas how i can increase the power out put or the torque
