    Hello

Hello Good choice, the dash lighting is cool style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> . Liking the sunroof too. Looks like the front wings got a little crease in it? Jon
  4. I'm up for the 4th March.
  5. Hmm thats good for a 1.4 16v 75, I doubt mine would do that. It must have takes ages to get there!
  6. Oh right, I just went there to get my tracking checked. When I said Lupo the guy thought I was bringing back the slammed silver GTI he had just done. I heard the day before you had lowered yours and thought it must have been you lol. Hmm looks lower than 50 to me style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  7. Looking good style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbsup.gif" />
  8. Looking good! Any idea how low it is? Could have washed it first though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Did you go to Town and Country to get your tracking done? Jon
  9. Ah I see, lol no need to worry: @nfbr - post edited, sorry
  10. Good point, come to think of it their engines do sound like a bag of spanners. I think the work you are looking for is 'less viscous'. @nfbr Chris is right, I meant when the engine is cold.
  11. I try not to go above 2000rpm until mine is warmed up, and never above 3000. Though I know plenty of people who aren't bothered about letting engines warm up, and I can't say they have had any problems caused as a direct result of it. Thats exactly what I do! Weekends are slightly different though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> .
  12. Precisely! There are two 2 Ka-owning receptionists at our place (though I think one has just traded up to a new mini style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> ). I know someone who fell asleep at the wheel of a micra. He was only 18 years old too!
  13. The spoiler on the green one is the non-gti spoiler. If you look at the spoiler on the Gti its a slightly different shape. Yep you're right, its the position of the aerial base that dictates if the spoiler will fit or not, not the aerial length. If you look at the photos of welshguy's aerial you can see what will happen if you have an early lupo with the aerial base further back. One way to find out is to look at your chassis number, as the VW brochure says: Rear roof spoiler * 6X0 071 645 9AX Price:£117.02 VAT:£20.48 Total:£137.50 *Only suitable for vehicles from chassis number 6XZYW013500 and cannot be used in conjunction with the Open Air module factory-fitted option.
  14. Not sure about the GTi spoiler, but you can get a Lupo non-Gti spoiler which is pretty similar, just the brake light is a different shape. Best thing you an do is take a pic of how far away the aerial is from the bootlid, as the aerial moved further forward on all lupos when the GTi came out, to accomodate for a spoiler. This happened about X-reg I think, so you may or may not be able to fit one. See pics on page 2 of SteveWP's 1.0 lupo spoiler
  15. Hello! Cool number plate style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> Have you fitted chrome front indicator bulbs? Jon
  16. I'm in Middlesbrough, so not far at all really. I think that Laser Blue GTi that lives in Norton too. Keep an eye out in the Events section, there are meets quite often. I think it was style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> . Hopefully mpg will go up when I get a new one style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  17. I think you get bored in searching for perfection because you never seem to find it! I suppose if you don't mind paying it will make a nice change for someone else to do all the hard work for you. Then all you have to do is sit back and listen style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> .
  18. I getting about 43mpg at the moment, but thats cold starts and short journeys. Also I my exhaust is blowing which wont do it any favours. I did however get 52mpg on a little run I did a while ago style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Where abouts in the North East are you? I might see you around lol Jon
  19. Hello! I have a black 1.4SE and its reasonably insurance friendly for a first car. Oh and I first fell in love with the Lupo when I was 13 and saw a GTi at the motor show style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Jon
  20. I agree that most Bose stuff is overpriced, but a Bose system is a complete in car system fitted from new, so are great for people wanting decent sound with no hassle. A custom installation requires skills, time and technical knowledge to complete, so whilst the likes of you and me may be able to do that, most of the car buying public won't. Also, since the Bose system is designed as a whole system it is difficult to change individual components, something audio enthusiasts would be frustrated by, and hence why I think Bose systems are often disregarded, and in my opinion overlooked. Anyway has a Bose system ever been entered into an SQ comp'? I thought SQ comps were for custom installations, whereas a Bose system is an OEM provided sound system, not a one off installation. Whats this spoiler thing all about?
  21. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> so the 34L fuel tank does not include the expansion space then. Well the most I have ever put in was 32L, and the needle was on 0 exactly (didnt move when the ignition was turned on). Does that mean there was still 2L left in style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
  22. All in your opinion of course. I find the design, size and sound of my Bose equipment far superior to that of other manufacturers I have experienced. I doubt you have experienced every single Bose audio product so you cannot just brand the whole company as 'crap'.
  23. Well I thought they were just plain black till I saw the close up photo. I think you should be able to see the VW badge thats all. You could maybe experiment with a red badge (photoshop anyone?) or chrome as in Bluloop's pic style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  24. Its great to see the project from start to finish. The detail in the car looks amazing. I hope to see it at a Baltic meet soon style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  25. I think they look good. I like the red/black theme going on style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> IMO needs some different centre caps though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
