Sports are alot cheaper to insure but the 100bhp has its problems like gearbox and that, i had the 100bhp version had to replace a gearbox, now got a gti wish id just gone straight for the gti the extra money to buy and insure is worth it in my opinion.

Completly agree about how comfy they are, did a 4 hour drive in my sport to buy a gti, soon as i sat in the gti instantly noticed the diffrence

Take the door cards off (upper and lower) and operate the window switch, see if there is anything clearly obvious thats blocking the windows operation and take it from there. (Make sure to use a torch to check the runners)

Hi guys whats the best way to test to see if an engine mount has gone on a gti? When i turn mine of can feel the engine really wobble?

If you mean remove the ht from the spark plug just pull it will pop off

When i say polish i dont mean in the cleaning way i mean as in sanding down to bare metal and making it shiney, i have no idea how to and where im at work havnt really got the time to flick through the net so any help would be great guys

nope not at all just find it funny how poeple on here ask for opinions and then when they hear what other people think and its not how there thinking they get all touchy

iv been watching this gti for a good month now waiting for money to sort out to purchase it and now i have the money i put a deposit down on it and collecting it wedensday, you asked for opinions so these kind people gave it, as silver said 'you should have jumped at the one you found instead of asking opinions' at the end of the day its you driving, its you who's only opinion matters, for price wise should look round at all the other colour GTI's on the net for an avarege price for the avarege mileage and so on. dont feel i sniped this from you but iv had to wait some time for the money.
