  1. Could this be my last update in this thread? My much-loved Lupo is up for sale after 6 years of being the best car in the world. 1.6 GTI 125bhp Tornado Red 2004 64500 miles 6 Speed 12 Months MOT (til 17/08/13) 6 Months Tax (til 31/01/13) Full Service History, done by VW for the first three years then a specialist after that. Only ever run on Shell Optimax/V-Power petrol whilst in my ownership. I never went over 3k revs before the engine was fully up to temperature. No expense spared in the upkeep of the car, whatever it needed, it got. Just had new front brake discs and fluid. Loads of tread left on the Toyo tyres. It has been totally reliable and never let me down. The bad points: The last service was done at the end of May 2011 at 60417, so it is due one now. Only done 4k since the last service due to buying a new car in January. There are a few scratches and marks around the car, consistent with it's age. It was a Cat D writeoff, which had been repaired before I bought it. I really love this car, and will be genuinely sad to see it go. Only people willing to see a grown man cry should consider buying it. After writing this, would somebody care to remind me why I'm selling it? Car is located in Hartlepool in the North East. £4250 Thanks.
  2. Anybody interested in a Marshall JCM800 2120 100w head and 4x12A cab? A once-a-year jam with my mates doesn't really warrant keeping it.
  3. Read "The definitive coilover thread" that's pinned at the top of the Tuning section. It's got all sorts of info about the different coilovers.
  4. Yeah, just link the pipes together, I used a bit of copper piping which was the perfect size to fit inside the pipes.
  5. Yup, I had an ipod plugged in using one of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Connects2-AVGIPOD003-IPOD-ADAPTOR-VW-MOST-MODELS-/250458667780?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3a507ffb04#ht_3030wt_1348
  6. You need a pre out lead. Quite cheap off eBay, I was running an amp and speakers off it. Easy. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-MFD-Mini-ISO-RCA-Pre-Out-Adaptor-Lead-Plug-/270784989504?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3f0c0b0940
  7. You're both right. Technically, you should adjust the tyre size accordingly to keep the rolling radius the same no matter what size your wheels are. So if your car had 15" wheels with medium profile tyres as standard, then you should have big profile tyres on 13" wheels or low profile tyres on 17" wheels. This woul keep your speedo accurate. But people tend to fit small tyres no matter what size there wheels are. This will throw your speedo out, but looks good.
  8. Mine is on 64k. Yours for £4000!
  9. I drove pretty hard on mine with no issues.
  10. I ran 165/50's on an 8" for ages, they were fine. But I probably wouldn't do it again. Too much stretch. Better off getting your arches flared a bit if necessary.
  11. Charcoal canister. Don't need it. People often remove it for a better cold air feed.
  12. My dad got some new wheels for his A6, and it would have been rude not to try them on. 19x8.5 et48 with 255/35/19. Since I couldn't keep them, I pinched his old ones. 18x8 et35 with 245/40/18. He's got a set of winter tyres for them though, so he'll be wanting them back. I'm actually thinking about selling it though. Make me an offer. Oh, and on the 170 mile drive to the in-laws it averaged 42mpg. Chuffed with that.
  13. I think there were about 1000 GTI's sold in Britain, and raven blue and anthracite were the rarest (other than Laser Blue, of which there are only 3 known).
  14. As I understand it, the weight of the car is on neither the wheel hub lip or the bolts, it's held on by the friction between the wheel mounting face and hub face. The centre spigot of the wheel up is there just to centralise the wheel, which is important. I wouldn't run 15mm non-hub centric spacers.
  15. £10! That's nearly as much as the bike! Haha. It does look like a nice seat, mind.
  16. Sometimes I wish it was white. Cruise was £110. Genuine kit with the stalk, steering wheel under cowl thing and a wire to patch into the ECU. Got it off eBay, but they only had it listed for A3's and TT's. They actually dropped the price to £100 straight after I bought it. I love the cruise control though, wouldn't be without it now. Is yours the one that you posted on Facebook a bit ago?
  17. The grille looks better in person, but I must admit I was a bit unsure on the total black out look whilst walking towards it the other day. The cruise was a mega-bitch! I'd love it to be lower, but the 30mm is a nice height and still comfortable, and cheap. I can't see me keeping it for ages, so always planned to keep the mods simple. I'd like air on my next car though. The lupo hasn't gone yet, but I'll be advertising it shortly!
  18. I want to keep to Audi ones really, have thought about putting the Bentley's on, but don't want to drop down to the super low profile tyres that i have kicking about. One needs replacing, which is why they're not already on.
  19. The boot is canny big, can get all sorts in there. I even bought a little net thing to stop my vanity case sliding around. I've just remembered I changed the number plate lights, interior lights and sidelights to LED's too. Activated coming home lights, turned off the seatbelt bonger, and activated hazard lights under harsh braking on VAGCOM. Little things to keep me occupied.
  20. That sounds expensive. I will just give my seat a wipe with a damp cloth, and carry on (not) riding my bike in some old trainers.
  21. Maybe I will Chris! Need to take it out of MOT mode though, it's currently back on standard top mounts with mega reverse rake and has big indicators cable tied to the grille. The Lupo certainly is still there, sorted all the brakes out the other day, just need to bleed them and I can drop it onto it's freshly refurbed silver Bathursts. Wanna buy it?
