  7. are you sure its not leaking at the front passenger side and travelling back cos a build up in leaves in scuttle panel blocks the drain holes and water comes in through heater intake, something to check.
  8. have you done a throttle body reset, if not clean it and get someone to reset with vagcom, (ask Rich). your car should keep up with your mates no prob, mines a half dead no nearly dead 75bhp running on a 1.0l box and I would give them something to think about to 100mph cos thats redline in 5th, after that im goosed and so is my engine lol

  14. Say nowt and put for test there would not blink an eye. the amount of work that people do to there cars around the world modding them and getting them on the road puts this in the shade, after all I would rather drive that safety wise, than a loop with its suspension lovely personsized to get a little lower, or the case of putting around 200bhp and bags of torque through a shell thats not designed for it by a long shot, over the years cars have been cut to death and welded back together to make them into what the owner wants, and put onto the road legal. as the last post says, its not as easy as choping roof off, but that does not meen it cant be done Scotty.
  15. Granted, but there is ways round that and its less than half the roof to come off, by the time you caped the top of the quarter panels off, and where the back axel is mounted and put re-enforcing bars from turret tops to B pillar and as long as you dont carry out heavy in it , it should be fine. if you really wanted to make sure all you would need to do is re-enforce the cills, yes the end result would be heavier than the oringinal but for some reason I like the look of a loop pickup, but what you have said is completly true Scotty in the sense that you cant just cut the roof of a monocoque shell and jobs done, there is more to it than that. ps I would still have to convince our lass to let me do it, cos it would be hers I cut up not mine George
  16. do some shopping then from different angles to gis a clue what to do and where to chop and how to fill back in
  17. I would like to see some more pick ups mate  , i am tempted to take the grinder to mine, my roof shift anyway lol
  18. 1.4 sport ie the 75kw has stronger pistons, larger inlet and exhaust ports, modified camshaft timing, modified inlet manifold, modified exhaust manifold and exhaust system and a aluminium sump to increase regidity for the higher performance over the 55kw 1.4 engine. both the 1.4 petrols have the same max torque of 123Nm with the 55kw max torque at 3300rpm and the 75kw at 4500rpm. they will both run on 91 Ron fuel but with reduced power output and torque, 55kw should run on 95Ron whilst the 75Kw engine should run on 98Ron. the 085 gearbox was fitted to the 1.0 37kw, 1.4 55kw, 1.4 75kw petrol engines and the 1.7 44kw sdi engine, albeit with different ratios. info took from Vw self study program George
  19. This but pull him out of the cab and beat him senseless with the rear bumper re-enforcing beam from your loop, then take it out on his tractor, he wont have your reg either so he will be in same predicament as you, I hate tossers like that. George
  20. sometimes the cable from the handle to lock is too tight, you can use a screwdriver to push the lockpart that the little cable attatches to away from handle so cable would go tighter then lock and unlock by button and see if door opens, this happened to me after i fitted new lock and fitted with no slack in little cable if that makes sense.
