Yes. To be honest it's a shame but the state of some of the bits just meant it was truly an uneconomical repair. So you want: ECU Loom ECU Transponder box 1x Key? As for the springs, they're not great to be honest. Plus it makes my life easier if it remains a rolling shell. The bit on the caliper is there I think.
  2. If you want a box then drop me a message before the end of Tuesday or its potentially gone.
  3. If only a none GTI could have been used. I really don't understand how people are so happy just wasting perfectly good cars.
  4. Yeah I'd probably be hesitant if it was in regular use, but the car rarely covers more than 500 miles in a year!
  5. Tensioner was £30 inc. from ECP, for that much it made sense to just change the whole thing.
  6. I have a CWX. Last known condition was working fine. £50 collected from Wigan.

This is being scrapped this weekend. Wings gone, bumpers gone, most other parts still available. Going cheap, let me know if you want anything.

    Hello!

Welcome! I have some soft blue parts available if you need any... Passenger wing mirror cap for example
  9. Would recommend starting out with scanning the car for any fault codes and go from there really.
  10. But have you tried replacing the EGR Valve?
  11. Yeah I take my hat off to you I certainly wouldn’t have wanted to do it there! I didnt, I left the bolt in place though and didn’t attempt to remove it. So I removed the oil filter to be able to do it from above to get access to the hole easier. And the old tensioner came out easy. However the new one didn’t seem to want to clear the chassis leg so I ended up removing the engine mount bolts on that side to allow it to drop down!
  12. So I’ve just today done it. Turned out to be a PITA.
  13. If you end up needing a new mech I can post one to you.
  14. Realised I had a spare alternator bracket! Makes perfect sense now after looking at this one!
  15. I think the only time we’ve had it off was before the engine went in, that’s a good 2 years ago and there doesn’t seem to be a guide anywhere!
  16. Had belt off. Coming from tensioner, makes a grinding noise just spinning the pulley by hand. Any guidance on how to replace?
  17. So, took the car for a bit of a drive after it had been garaged for a month or so. Anyway, weird ticking/high pitched noise coming from seemingly the alternator area. It comes and goes but it’s only started recently. Alternator on its way out? Will look into it properly soon but just looking for opinions. 2BCD9A04-0F95-4702-866E-0380F1298686.MOV
  18. No need to drain oil. Remove start motor (3x13mm head bolts) remove driveshaft bolts (12 in total - think they’re size 10 , definitely triple square / spline though) 4x 18mm head bolts hold it to the block drop box out (it will clear the subframe and driveshafts with a bit of wiggling!) replace thrust bearing. Installation is repeat of removal.
  19. No. Not related - but Currently Driving:Yes Made me chuckle. Bravo.
  20. You could always wire the functions in on some switches.
  21. Even if they do. Got some new lines made up by a local motor factors for less than a tenner
  22. With the correct advice that Rich has put above, along with the above quote... This really highlights why looking into things and also just trying things rather than relying on the internet is a good idea. How much camber are you trying to add anyway?
