  1. Couldn't see anywhere obvious where it would go - Your right its not that long - The other side of it might be and just dropped down somewhere. If you can have a look would be appreciated. You might find it disconnected as well! lol
  2. I found this when I was checking for poor earth connections - Anyone know what this plug is for:
  3. Been a while since there has been any updates due to VW getting there act together on the repairs. All sorted now and will get some pictures up of the damage in time (Got to sort the laptop out there on as its playing up). Today has been about sorting out a mysterious battery drain that is stange to say the least. VW have been working on it as well but they've not come up with much. They have given me a new battery for free. It's an intermittent fault I had the multi meter out on the car today and its drawing between 40-50mA which isn't enough to drain the battery as quickly as I am experiencing. Some pictures anyways incase someone else gets something similar and wants to know how to test. I pulled the fuse which I think is for the remote central locking / Alarm and the reading dropped to 10mA (7th Fuse in from the left on the bottom row - 15A) Still really means that it's not much help overall which in one sense I am happy about another it peeved me off as i was hoping it was something trivial like the radio. Got a new stereo on order as well with some other bits to spruce the car up a bit just need a couple of warm weekends really to get everything done.
  4. I got one from VW for £16. (Well trader section on here!) Part Number is 6X0 857 058 B
  5. I'm buying a new one I can't see **** in mine. Can't work out where the levels are - I know there was non G12 in mine though It was blue when i got it.
  6. I'm going through a list of possible problems - I was trying to see if there are any dodgy connections to the unit. Hopefully nohing major - Just trying to find out why the battery is constantly draining.
  7. Can anyone tell me where this is located? Is it in the passenger footwell below where you would normally have a dashboard?
  8. I've not touched any electrics - The car has always had this problem since I've owned it. Just trying to get to the bottom of it. Can this test not be carried out from the battery terminals and the fuses removed one at a time to locate the source of the drain instead?
  9. Evening All, Just wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for the radio Harness in the Lupo / Polo. Still trying to track down an intermittant drain problem and this is the next thing on the list to check - Just want to make sure no Billy Butchers have been playing with the wiring and mucked things up! Cheers.
  10. Did you actually read what he wrote? He asked what the problem was.
  11. Got the same problem with mine at the moment. Will let you know when I know what it is - VW are trying to find the fault at the moment - Free of Charge as they have cocked up a few things on the car.
  12. Back to this subject again - Checked the fault codes and they have returned. VW gave me some bull about the convenience locking being at fault and they have disabled it, however the battery drain is still there meaning that 1 day and the battery is completely dead. New Battery on the car - So its not that. Car is fine if I start it everyday - However I don't think I should have to do that and something is obviously raping the battery. So any ideas appreciated going to pick up a multi-meter at the weekend and start my own investigation I think as VW are a bit crap to be honest and I think they have destroyed my car enough recently.
  13. You sure the police haven't picked it up?
  14. ECU is normally located under plastic cover near the windscreen I believe. If that made any sense. Airbag Control unit is located in Drivers side footwell behind cover where the bonnet pull is (Again someone can verify this as I've never had a need to get to either)
  15. I'll have a look into it when I get the car back - I'll stick it in progress thread on my car and drop you a link. I think it can be reprogrammed through VAG COM without a workshop code but needs to be checked to see if the key is suitable for coding before starting. (Run through instruments [17], Then measuring blocks and test under group 22) Those porsche calipers look great - The more I see them the more I want a set on the car.
  16. The car is 2001 Lupo - So your thinking is a combination between Tacho and Vag Com wouldn't be able to code the keys? I hear 2002 onwards can be a bit of a pain but thinking I might have scraped into the OK section Seen a few guys on the Audi Forums code keys on later models with a combination between the 2 programmes. As for the Brakes - Mean that they are going to take some work to get on the car - I would be interested in maybe purchasing a set of the brackets in the future if you're making spares. Whats the clearance liking on the std GTI Calipers to the bathursts?
  17. Carpet dye has made a huge difference - Like it.
  18. Cambelt and water pump change is - £399 at my local dealership
  19. Not a lot of clearance there at all on the Brembos! Is it possible to code a transponder from the ignition barrel if there is a blank transponder? Seen the instructions for the remote programming on here! I like Brembos - Think they go well with the car, but can imagine they could be hard work on a Lupo, so will watch this closely going forwards.
  20. Yeah not far - More then welcome to pop down when its back with me and I'll do a quick test for you. Wouldn't lose hope though at least you have a car mine was dropped off a ramp in VW and they are repairing it at the moment, be lucky if I get it back for christmas!
  21. What porsche are the brakes from from? Look really good behind those wheels. Top Job on the car. The flip keys you done, did you code them yourself through VAG Tacho / VAG COM? if so might need your help at some point the future if you don't mind me sending you a message.
  22. Wasn't me but that's not far from me - I'm in Rayleigh.
  23. Straight off the Lupo GTi gearbox won't fit. So that's a start for you!
  24. Second Video looks like something you would see on Police, Camera, Action
