  1. What a great mod style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I think what would be better if you could paint that white surround black or replace it, it looks like you can unscrew the board to get to it easy enough. but still looks great. I'll be setting up guages for my lupo over the summer but they will probably all be round analogue ones and i've notgota dash so would have to fabricate some sort of mount for them.
  2. I've owned a 1.4 s and a 1.4 sport and to be honest theres nothing in them around town, the 75bhp will be slightly quicker off the mark as the torque band is a lot lower, the sport really needs to live around 5000+rpm to get the most out of it. my sport sits around 3500rpm at motorway speeds which is pretty low for a car that redlines at 7000rpm. the 75bhp will sit around 3100rpm and redlines at 6000rpm. I found the 75bhp to be a lot better on fuel that the sport was originlly, now it's hitting 55mpg but only because it weighs next to nothing. the 75bhp engine changed from 2001 X reg and I beleive this AUA engine is better than the one before it as the torque comes in earlier and it also shows 7000rpm on the clocks where as the previous one i think shows 6000rpm. plus if you wanted to get more out of it you could easily fit an AUB head and ecu and even a gti throttle body/inleft manifold. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbsup.gif" /> but then you may as well have gone for the sport.. I think sports are a bit overpriced at the moment though you can pick up a nice 's' for £2000 the equivelant sport would cost closer to £3500. If I were you I'd get the 75bhp and fit a set of sport alloys style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  3. I had a dream a couple of nights ago that my car would only run on coco pops. I couldn't find them anywhere. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Sorry, that probably doesnt help.
  4. They may be a slight different fitment. I have lupo gti doors on mine with manual adjust mirros and the inside plastic parts wouldnt fit on the gti door the holes are different, so if you do order one make sure it's for a non gti door.
  5. I check mine when I fill up if im not in a rush so about every 3 or 4 tanks, it never seems to need changing though unless its in the summer when it goes up.
  6. are they red or black? if black you could just buy a rubber grommet and fit it in the hole? I've taken mine off altogether but mines not the prettiest loop on the inside style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  7. I run 195/45/15 on my lupo but run at silly low pressures F27psi R24psi because if they're too high the back end bounces style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> any the difference between a gti and a sport in weight? hardly any the sport is about 10kg lighter according to the manual? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Oh yeah the correct pressure is on the fuel cap (should have read properly first) Load / Front / Rear (BAR) 2Bar = 29psi Normal / 2,2 / 2,0 Heavy / 2,4 / 2,6
  8. if they can afford civic type-r's im sure they could afford any golf/lupo gti! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  9. Looks like most of the events dont have a fixed date yet but would still be worth doing http://www.vwaction.co.uk/ http://www.gtiinternational.co.uk/ http://www.dubfreeze.co.uk/ Sunday 18th Feb http://www.volksdevil.com/showmain.htm
  10. Do we have one already? I have had a look. just a pinned topic where mods can add events for the year. I want to try to get to most of them this year but alway miss out on something. dubfreeze, gti spring festival, gti international, gti fest, big bang, e38, bugjam, bvf, vfw... also is it worth trying to arrange a show with clubpolo when they do the polo show? we could start up a similar thing but try to get in around the same time seeing as a lot of us have polos and lupos or know people at the polo show? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  11. Yeah turn your seat around and stick it in reverse
  12. this wasup for sale on the forum a few months ago? it was a lupo gti track car, the noise is probably just the exhaust they get pretty noisey when you remove the cat and increase he bore size.
  13. hardly up north.. midlands really? i'll be there.. first show of the year usually isn't it?
  14. I'll be keeping a keen eye on this one, i love all these new lupo projects coming up, certainly looks like a car for the future as the prices come down.. well, as far as engine transplants and drivetrain/chassis mods go anyway style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbup.gif" /> Is it worth moving this to readers rides? and sticking some pics up of the car as standard?
  15. No updates. Lupiiin has been sat outside the house getting dusty and dirty, the occasional trip to the shops and showing up my new g40 as the g40 is not as quick as lupiiin! border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />
  16. not really done anything great this year, but it did start building up the lupo track car and done 95% of the work myself, took it to gti fest at santapod and despite strectching the clutch cable, losing 5th gear and getting my window jammed upen i still managed fastest car in it's class style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> only buying 3 cars this year, im proud of that, last year i bought about 7 and the year before even more. we took one of our chinchillas to a show ( style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> i know!) but it won best chinchilla in 4 different classes and 2nd overall, that was good. oh and work has gone pretty well. actually thinking about it theres not really much that has gone wrong this year, a goldfish dies. denis, he was like 9 years old too! we took him to the sea to let him go and he floated away style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  17. here you go. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />
  18. eclipse/virgin both pretty good and have unlimited services. around £15 a month
  19. Pics.. ? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  20. could be the wind catching something. it the bonnet secure? check the bumper and grille fitments, tray under the engine.. ever had a replacement windscreen? definatly not a whining noise? or like a wheel bearing? could even be tyres if the tread is thin style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />
  21. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />
  22. I really like the look of this lupo style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> do you think the exhaust bore is a bit overkill though? 63.5mm for a 75bhp engine? would it lose a lot of torque with this? I Upgraded mine to 50.8mm with around 122bhp. and my g40 was only 57mm with 160bhp style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
  23. deleted style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
