  1. Indeed! Unfortunatly my loop has now gone. But he's back on the road now, with someone else and still tearing up the streets of south wales. I'll still be around though and not ruling out something in the future once I get my stuff together.
  2. Final update on this thread. LUP111N Lives on. He has been sold to another member on this forum and someone who lives not too far from me. He's back on the road and continues to put a smile on the drivers face. Five years of ownership was a blast, really. And I hope one day I'll own another Lupo and have the time/money to do something even more crazy. I don't think I ever put as much time and effort into a car than I did with this at the time. To the new owner, if he ever goes back to Santapod keep an eye on him as you may feel a slight pulling towards the track.
  3. Glad you got this sorted out! I'm guessing that had been done by longlife who fitted the exhaust. Anyway enjoy the car matey. Think I'll need to change my sig now!
  4. Is the E38 website down? not been able to get on there since Thursday? Also seems odd they dont charge per day? I was planning to go on Saturday morning and leave late afternoon. £25 seems steep
  5. heh, even I replied to this one back in the day
  6. I did have one of these alongside my sport at one time. For driving around town I don't think you would really feel the difference. It may even be that the 75bhp torue peaks earlier making it a bit more pokey but it was a little while ago.
  7. http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=55995 bit more useful
  8. Don't blame me im just saving everyone time here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DCFPS58KYY http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=67338
  9. May not be a big help, but interesting anyway I took this from my readers ride thread. Still useful to know
  10. I've taken a sensible approach (first time for everything) and put this up for sale in the designated area. I'm doing this before I go insane and start spending more money on the car. It will be sad to see it go but if it doesnt I'll keep onto it a little while longer.
  11. If you're paying that much for insurance phone as many places as you can. 20-30 if you have to to get the best price. I remember back in the day adrian flux gave me the best price on my polo, not sure how young they insure to. Also tried adding a parent onto your insurance? if you're paying as much at £2000 you could knock 1/4 of that off by adding a responsible driver, there are lots of other tricks too but I forget them. Anyway you'll probably hate me now, I just insured my lupo for £180 and its not quite standard. At least something to look forward too when you get older
  12. I'll see how it goes then. I've got a week or 2 to look over the car to get it ready for an MOT. there used to be a website with a selfcheck pre MOT test thing you could do. The cars got no cat, it did pass emissions tests as ok without it. But I do have a replacable cat for it so just hope the bolts havnt seized up. A few others things like seat brackets and labeling the horn (rewired rear washer button) and it should be fine. If I do get it back on the road I think it may be a bit late to make any shows this year. I've been driving all sorts for the past couple of years, a mazda, a honda accord and my latest car being an alfa 156. looking forward to being behind the wheel of a vw again.
  13. The car has not changed mechanically since it was last road legal. Unless something has nested in the exhaust giving the additional back pressure it once needed.
  14. Not directly, no, but cages block mirrors and lack of dash unveils pointy things.
  15. A short return But yes, im back properly now, just got a bit side tracked. Took the lupo for a drive yesterday, not far but nice to know its still running. On a private road of course that runs behind my house! Now to find a garage that will happily MOT a Lupo with a roll cage and no dashboard. Maybe I should get out the duck tape.
  16. Of course! Sorry I'll try not to wait 8 months between replys next time.

    Hi

Welcome! The white wheels/wing mirros/badge combo looks a bit odd, seems to work for some cars but if youre changing them get a black badge for hte front or spray the one you have, I'm sure it'll look a lot better. The move from anything down to a 1.0 will be a killer, just remember you obviously havnt bought the car for performance do as much work to it yourself as you can, there are plenty of guides around, and just enjoy it for what it is. Is this replacing the Clio or to run along side it?
  18. Get some quotes from insurance companies first. Dont rule out a 1.0 it will do everything you need it to do and could cost a lot less on insurance. check the tax bands too. Look through the forums for common faults and either check these out yourself or take someone with you when viewing the car. Research first and it will make the whole experience of buying your first car and owning a Lupo a lot more enjoyable.
  19. The very same. I was a big fan of castle of cagliostro (and the original manga stuff) and loved the fiat 500 chase. Although my g/f had a fiat seicento at the time which I guess is the closest you could get it was the lupo that got the name
  20. Lupin III. only male car I ever owned
  21. OK Well seriously, theres no upate Since the last one the car has only been driven up and down a country lane. Starts fine still but it never made it to a proper track. Lupiiin is still around. As for the dash and the mot, true its not needed but it it does a good job of hiding things and holding other things in place. I'll be spending some time on the lupo soon. only to make sure its all running ok, the roll cage was never bolted in. If everything checks out ok I'll probably be looking at selling it. I've meant to a few times but stopped myself. We'll see what happens in the next month or two.
  22. which engine? AFK or AUB? Edit: Actually scrap that, I beleive with just the manifold you will be fine. Its the CAT that you have ECU fits and have to worry about lambda sensors. I got a pic here, looking back is not the neatest job but you can see the raceland mani which would usually go to the standard cat which was removed (AUB engine no probs)
