  1. Hmm, call me old school or just plain old but these free ride style long-ish travel hardtails just aren't my thing plus I think they put people off mtbing in the long term, if you just want something to blast around for an hour the Norco and the Kona would probably be ok but for me, trail riding, climbing and some road work these bikes will pee you off, they're just too heavy and cumbersome. I prefer true cross country bikes like Specialized Stumpjumper, Scott Scale series, some of the cannondale bikes. Light weight, lock able front suspension, nimble plus you can ride them on the road at a decent pace with some slicks. But getting back to the subject, I just searched ebay for you, keyword scott and check out this beauty, check out the extras, more ampage than my lupo lol. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SCOTT-RACING-LINE-CO...id=p3286.c0.m14
  2. Hi there, For £600 you'll get a really decent front suspension x-country bike which it sounds like what you need for the trails rather than a downhill bike which will just pee you off as soon as you come to a hill. I wouldn't go for a full suspension bike at that price range it'll just annoy you and slow you down. For £600 you'll get disc brakes now, which I didn't get on my £1200 about 4 year ago! I'd recommend spending as much as you can afford, there are some good sales around this time of year as the 2009 bikes will be in early next year and in some cases are already in the shops so now is a good time to buy. Try and save some money for a set of decent shoes and spd clipless pedals, these will make a big difference to your enjoyment. They're a bit scary at first but worth getting used to as they're much stiffer than regular trainers. As far as brands go, you've got all the usual like Specialized and Trek, Marin but there are a few internet bargains to be had from the likes of merlincycles.co.uk and wiggle.co.uk. Merlin are good as they spec some good bits that you won't need to change for a while, just had a loook on the site and they have this for £200 off which has a good spec and not too heavy at 27.5lbs http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/?fn=product&...;categoryId=129. I'll have a look round for some other bargains! cheers dave
  3. This happened to my N95, but I had but a theme on it, to make it all nice and pretty but it wasn't a standard Nokia one so it took me ages to figure out that's what it was, after that, displayed numbers as normal.
  4. Thanks for the help guys, Not a bad job at all, prob an hour and a half in total. Could probably do it half the time now I know where all the clips are. Will take pics of my slighty dented bumper today if anyone wants it. Cheers again Dave
  5. cheers mike, so all the screws/bolts are visible are they? Is there any under the rear arches? I've not time to look yet.
  6. Hi Guys, I was just wondering if anyone knows how easy it is to take off the gti rear bumper outer shell only, I searched the forum and found a visual drawing but it doesn't clearly show where the screws are and how to get to them etc. If anyone can offer me a bit of advice I'd be grateful! As I've bought the new shell and had it painted so want to fit it tomorrow. BTW, I will have a dented (lampost, oops!) gti rear bumper on offer when I've done, if anyone wants it, they can have it for free, not sure if it could be heated and re shaped maybe? I'll stick pics up when I've done. Thanks chaps
  7. I'm keen to see that, looks like a laugh. Have you got your ticket already Tom?
  8. Has anyone got anymore of the red piping, can't remember who was selling it. Mine's gone pink in the sun... looks a bit, well, pink! Cheers
  9. Hey there, I have a spare standard aerial if you want it, bung us a tenner plus postage if you're interested! Thanks Dave
  10. Yeah we know that, it's just a bit of fun mate so I wouldn't get upset. Plus in the eyes of the general public he has been 'owned' because he's now be made to look a bit dense.
  11. Can't get that excited about it,a few extra free minutes! Surely what most people want is for the iphone to come down in price and there to be cheaper monthly tariff options. Still, it's a start!
  12. Someone mentioned that he was an Everton footballer but I've no idea to be honest!
  13. hehe, saw this today as i was shopping in town. Not everyday you see a veyron so took a few pics! Quite funny when the traffic warden turned up. It was like a pantomime, she was getting cheered and booed in equal measures!
  14. Hey M1, Yeah feel free to, I'll definitely have a look at it. Cheers Dave
  15. Hi Lupo-T, Yeah feel free to Pm the pic, I'll have a look at it first before paypalling to make sure it's do-able! Cheers
  16. Yeah basically, I draw it out in illustrator then take it into photoshop and use the brushes and quite a few layers (25 in this case). Can be done to any photo, the higher the resolution the better though! I'll do a custom photo in colour or black and white (or any colour scheme you want) for £35.
  17. Thanks very much! Not really had any formal training, I did do a mac skills evening course then just kind of 'fell' into it. I've just been messing with illustrator and photoshop and found i loved illustrating stuff! I work for an ad agency now but the stuff we do his mainly horrible arts and leisure logos and adverts and things so my web stuff is what i do to get all the 9 to 5 stuff out of my system! Started doing the book covers for my gf who works for a publishing company. if you love messing and finding out how to do stuff you'll soon pick up the programmes, if you need an tips or pointers though feel free to give me a shout anytime! Cheers
  18. Hi Guys, been messing with illustrator / photoshop for a bit today (as the weathers bobbins!). I've created an illustration based on a photo I found on here ages ago. Does anyone know who took the shot originally? It's a really nice photograph took with a fish eye lens. I wanted to ask his/her permission to run out a few prints if anyone wants one. I'll post the illustration below. I was thinking of £10 for an A4 and A3 for £15 on really nice thick art paper. This is all dependent on sorting out some arrangement with the original photographer. Also I can hand illustrate your photo to create a similar effect. I do similar stuff on my website but not done any cars before! www.coffeeandbiscuits.co.uk Cheers guys, any thoughts, comments welcome.

Rob, loved the fortwo, it was fantastic for the city centre. Loads of room (I'm 6ft2), feels really airy inside because of the glass roof and is pretty well built too. The engine is revvy and fun to drive with the semi auto paddles, really suits the character of the car. It doesn't handle, obviously, but you can throw it around a bit and was great fun in the ice, you can really get the back end out! I'd have another as a second car if I could.

No, used to have a smart car (don't laugh). Don't park in town much as i live here but resent paying for it when I have to so park there. It's pretty safe around there, always police driving by as it's the red light district!
