Thanks for the reply, I'm trying to pull out the whole unit yes. I've tried tugging it from the back but no matter how hard I pull it won't come out.

I know there has already been a thread about this but I'm still stuck. I have a MK1 Lupo with the in-din cupholders. I'm trying to take it out so I can change the centre console plastic (any hints on this too would be appreciated) but I can't for the life of me get them out. I'd say it is stuck un the underside but I don't know how to release this. I've tried taking the hazard light button/rear windscreen heater button off but that hasn't helped. Thank you

I had a knocking/rubbing sound when my rear shock absorbers split but only heard it when cornering at speed.

Whats with all the red Lupos in Stafford. Everyone with a Lupo in Stone that I know has Taffeta Green like me.

I think a sticker collection would be cool, just a little low on the list. Have just fixed the back end cosmetic problems. Then the bonnet and some front bodywork needs doing. A bit of paint touch up. Lowering a little. Some interior too. Going into the garage soon as I'm having some trouble starting up and there is some horrible noises coming from it I'll maybe invest in some stickers after the bodywork. In fact, maybe make a build thread. Lucky for me all exams are over and so summers free until Uni.

I've seen you round Stafford a couple of times. I'm from Stone. I was in a dark green 1.4.

My Lupo spends more time in the garage than on the road. Guess I've got the bad one.

Yep, they fold almost perfectly flat. I think mine goes down to about 2cm higher than the rest of the boot.

It was just the clutch cable. All sorted now

Was in Morrison's car park, put the clutch in and I heard a horrible snap. There is no resistance in the clutch now, the pedal is just loose. Had to wait 1 hour 30 for breakdown recovery Any ideas what has happened and how much the garage will likely charge me?

It's back from the garage now £180 The problem should be sorted now I hope but I'll keep you all updated.

I was also in a dark green Lupo, followed you coming out of the one way system, you turned off into an estate just before the esso. You had a red Club Lupo sticker on the back of your car.

It's not a double din, it is two separate parts, top has a tape play and bottom a CD player. The main problem is the volume switch which doesn't work too well. Often it will go louder when trying to turn it down.

Mine weren't working when I got it, if I hit the side of the plastic, they come on which means mine is a connection problem.

I've had my Lupo for about a month and it's time I addressed some issues I should had a long time ago. I bought the car out of the local paper for £1450. It is a petrol 1.4. The previous owners dad did all the work on it. ____________ A few days after I bought it, I was driving through town and it cut out at the traffic lights, it just kept idling. This happened around 10 times (whilst the undercover police were coming past me aswell), just pulled up at my mates and smoke started to come through the steering wheel shaft. He is a trainee mechanic, use some carburettor cleaner and the problem seems to be fixed. The other day, the road was a bit wet and I pull out on someone a bit so accelerated to get away causing wheel spin. After that, the car shook violently when I put my foot down more than a little bit. I couldn't drive it above 50mph. The next day, it appeared to be fine. I'm taking it in to get serviced but if you have any ideas on these two, please give me a heads up. ____________ Now for the minor problems. Any hints on the following please. The radio has really bad signal, I'm guessing it has something to do with the minuscule aerial on the Lupo if this is likely the problem, where's the best place to get a new one and are they easy to fit? On the floor passenger side in the back, it is always damp under the mat, it is also a bit soapy. Not sure what this is but at a guess I'd say a leakage for back windscreen wash. Since owning the car someone has put a dent in the side opening the car door onto it whilst I was in the supermarket, I doubt it is worth doing anything with though since it is only a small dent. A taxi also drove into the back of me putting a scratch and a dent in there. This is also a few scratches and paint chips, one is starting to rust, best method to proceed? The standard stereo takes up both slots, if I replace these with a single din CD player, what can I do with the lower one rather than just having a hole there? _____________ I'm asking a lot here, by all means, you don't need to answer the whole lot, if you have an answer to just one of these I'd be really grateful. Cheers, I'll check in the morning. On a sidenote - what mats are those, are they custom or a Lupo specific ones because I have some Ford KA mats in mine at the minute and they don't fit well.

Just as a comparison for you I got mine for £1450 for a W-Reg (2000) 70k with a bit of damage on the back. Sounds reasonable.

Anything that I could do to check if it'll fit?

Thanks for the replies, I'll take a look, just found the screws now. Reason being I want to avoid ebay is that I'm a new driver. First car and I'm 17 so I can't use ebay yet. I'll have to find someone to get it for me. I'm not quite sure what they should be to be honest. The car was only working for a few days so I didn't really notice. A few days after I bought it, it started idling and cutting out. It cut out over 15 times in about 4 miles then when I pulled up, smoke started to come out of the steering wheel. We used some carburetor cleaner which has done the job for now but it is going into the garage soon.

Hello, I recently purchased a green W-Reg 1.4 Lupo. There are a few questions I have though. Firstly, the dash which shades the dials rattles a bit. When you start the car it is fine because the rev counter goes to about 10 but waiting at lights, it drops to about 7 and makes a hell of a noise as it shakes. I was also looking at replacing the coin tray with cupholders, where is the best place to get these from? I've seen some threads showing how it's done but I'd rather avoid eBay if possible.
