Vr's are very juicy, but the sound .. if you opt for a gti make sure its the 16v. With a few choice mods these aren't too far behind the VRs. no1 problem i'd say is rust..

My mrs has a 1litre Lupo.. She said she's recently noticed mayo under the filler cap. Says she hasn't noticed any loss in coolant? No mayo on the dipstick? Don't smoke, don't overheat, don't make any weird noises etc.. Just took me out to get petrol & things started fine.. Then after about 10mins the oil light came on, then there was a loss in power.. Any ideas people?

MdBrOoN, how did you sort the left front engine mount in the end? also what parts could/did you re-use from your lupo old engine.. i need more pictures please!

If I knew how2 rebuild it, I wud definately attempt it.. Unforunately I'm not very mechanical minded, stil 2work out how2 change the headlight & fog bulbs.. Lol. Rang a few garages no1 wants 2take it on so far

so my sport is sick its been drinking 1/2 litre of oil a week & the back of the car is black, like 2days after i wash it.. so took it to one mechanic who said he took out a compression test and assured me it was the stem valve seals. wanted £600 for the work said i'd let him know.. went to a meet and someone suggested for the amount of oil its drinking its gotta be rings.. so i then took it to a different mechanic who said he put a borescope?? in the spark plug hole and he said its piston rings.. but not only that.. one has scored the cylinder bore quite deeply.. i have no knowledge of engines AT ALL.. my question is what are my options? new engine or strip down and rebuild?

on what looked like 13s.. Jus rolled past as I walk home from the mechanics. Lol. Looked good on the move

I changed my standard bulb for an LED one and its constantly dimly (sp) on.. Unless I physically turn it to the off position? But when I use a normal filament bulb it appears to be off.. Maybe they constantly pull a very small amount of current?

Mine is also doing this.. Got it booked in a mechanic for next week.. Gona run some kind of test on the cylinders (im no mechanic, can you tell?) Why drop a new engine in - More cost effective? Rough average price to have the piston rings changed?

Hey, we have 2lupo's we bought my girlfriend a dark metallic green 1L a few weeks ago, and i have just purchased a red sport.. Also currently drivin a mk3 VR6, thinking about selling up and just running the lupo instead. both lupo's have a few issues.. but firstly im gona trail through the FAQ's and actually use the search function.. but if i need help i will be asking away. Will get pics when it stops raining and i have the time. Oh & my lupo has clublupo stickers in the rear window so im guessing one of its owner's must have been on here at some point.. Ryan.
