  1. Who cares if your car isn't 'top notch'. Show 'n' shine is just that, turn up, give it a polish and be part of the show. If nobody put their cars in, there'd be nothing to look at and it's not always the 100% best car that wins. For example Vicky Ellinson's awesome black New Beetle with ££££££££s spent on it (which is one of the best in Europe) didn't even get a rosette on Saturday, the class was won by the yellow Beetle on yellow BBSs with a green one on steelies 2nd!
  2. My 2002 1.4 smokes on start up when cold and has only done 43k. It's used no oil in 6k, runs sweet as a nut and there's no sign of any smoke on the overrun or hard acceleration. Just a tiny bit of valve seal seepage I recon. I'm not concerned!
  3. Yeah, new battery fitted and it's charging fine. It's just the mysterious light problem! It goes on and off properly when the doors are opened and closed but then seems to come on for no reason draining the battery. I wondered if it was a door switch or sensor problem rather than the actual light unit which is pretty simple.
  4. Has anybody had problems with the interior light. My wifes car developed a totally flat battery when the snow was around when we'd been away for a few days and the clue was a patch of snowless roof right over the light. The battery charged up ok and has survived another other couple of months and we've left the light in the off position. Now the battery has failed and been replaced and the local garage has replaced the interior light unit although I'm not sure it would be the light itself that would be the problem. Any ideas?
  5. I swapped my OEM head unit in my New Beetle for a Blaupunkt and lost most of my FM signal and all my AM signal. I got a small cigar shaped booster from Halfrauds which needs a power feed and it worked a treat. I can listen to the footy all I want now. You have to watch how you wire them though, it need to be wired to a SWITCHED ignition live or it's on all the time and drains the battery.
  6. I really like them! They're my first choice to go onto the wife's Loop! How much do they sell for if they come up on here? Deep dish 13s that look great on a slammed car don't have the impact on one with standard ride height

    Hi to all

Hi, I'm Dave and I drive T33TLE, a silver New Beetle. I'm driving down to Norfolk tomorrow to pick up a nice silver '52 plate 1.4E Loop with 38K for Amanda, my wife. Always loved the rollerskate looks of the Loops and can't wait to get it back and start to play with it!
