Nathan94
Just got a set of xenon headlights, but one of the lights has a damaged lens, is the standard light lens the same as the GTI so I could swap them over?
Defcon5
You mean you have a set of GTI headlamps?I very much doubt you can change the glass, and are you going to install sidelights where your indicators currently are?
Nathan94
Going to put the sidelights where the indicators are in the GTI headlight, got them for a bargain price, but the drivers side glass is peeling at the top of the light, so I was wondering if I could use my old lights to repair it or buy a new lens? jon_273
The GTI lenses can't be separated by melting the glue like you can with the standard lamps, so I'm not sure how you could use your standard lamps to repair the GTI ones. You can buy a new headlamp casing but according to this forum they cost around £300! Nathan94
Ouch, well I only paid £50 for the pair and one is fine. It looks like the laminate is peeling at the top, I was thinking could a wet and dry then polish cure it then maybe a bit of light black laminx to hide it? jon_273
I'm sure you could wet sand it to remove all the plastic coating, and them just machine polish the exposed polycarbonate surface.
