gib Posted October 16, 2013 Report Share Posted October 16, 2013 hello I'm new on here so first time posting anything, I have a mk 2 seat arosa 1.4 16v and when in higher gears my gear box or something is whining, also when running there is a tapping noise which will stop when I put my clutch in, my clutch is noisy when ticking over an stop when I put it in, does anyone have any idea what it could be? thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It will first be in the higher gears then it will whine in the lower gears. Then you will find it jumps out of gear and is hard to go into gear. Your gearbox will then break badly. The Box from the non sport 1.4 has much longer gearing and I don't think it has so many problems. Also you don't have to sit at 4krpm to do 70mph.
