lizzy
My arosa tdi occasionally wouldn't start. Turn the key and nothing. Usually would start up after attempting a few times. This morning it refused completely. You can hear fuel priming. A quick look under bonnet and you could here a click suggesting the solenoid is ok, but not turning over. I haven't checked any further due to the arrival of our second child last night. All electrics appear ok so I presume it is the starter. Unless anyone got any other suggestions? other-power
Are you saying the start motor is not engaging? If so, chances are its the stater motor not engaging, tap it with a hammer and see if that helps.Jon
lizzy
I would have thought that is the most likely explanation. Suprising as according to the cars history the starter is only 3 years old.

scotty_82
If it either just clicks and nothing happens or sometimes a high ish pitch 3-5 second wurring (yes it's a technical word) then again nothing happening I'd then put money on it beig the starter motor.
