Bradley_Kermit
Just wondering if it is possible to fit electric windows and central locking to a Lupo model SE that doesn't have them. If so, how much of a challenge would this be and would it require the loom from the previous vehicle?Cheers, Bradley.
Pete91
Electric windows - pain in the titsCentral locking - rclick kits are good and easy to fit
jordon123200063
Check out cyclone alarms with the central locking it's cheaper than rclick and they both work the same, plus it's so much easier just put it in my 1.0 lupo alarm system next month
Pete91
How much are the cyclone alarms? Rclick is only £25.

Bradley_Kermit
Thanks for the advice regarding the locking side of things. Don't suppose you'd know if I will need the new loom to go with the new electric windows or not?
jordon123200063
not sure i have manual widows too but it doesnt bother me, the loom might already be there just needing to be connected
Pete91
In my last car i looked into doing this and thought about buying a kit for it off ebay but i couldn't find any reviews for it so didn't bother. Could be worth a punt tho

GeoffD
i've just done this one, i took the convenience box from a 1.4 seat arosa sport and all the wiring and the plugs and the window mechanisms etc and no, the wiring is not just sitting there waiting for you. i'm a qualified engineer and i wont be doing this for anyone else! what a pain, stick with your windy windows, they wont let you down. my daughter's windows / locking work though,, but for how long? geoff
on it in a lupo
I fitted and electric widow in my door the other day and it took me like 40mins was a piece of p**s, dunno about central locking though
Skezza
central locking seems to be straight forward according to a lot of people but ive not found a guide on the internet to suggest that. i doubt the wiring loom is already there so you'll need splice a cable off a perm live and a cable from earth. GeoffD
ha! i fitted the genuine vw control box though, there are wires going all over the place, i would assume that the aftermarket kits are simple by comparison. but i now have one touch sensitive windows and central locking, emergency locking etc. let me say that everything looks easy till your car is in a million pieces and youre wondering where tf these wires go. best of luck anyway
