Hazy
If you've replaced the Brake Light Switch (the one located at the pedal), and it's still not working, you may have a dodgy earth somewhere. Digging around with a Multimeter may help.
danoid
I had this on my passat, changed loads of things then found out both my brake bulbs had actually blown! soon as I changed them the error went
truCido
as above, check the bulbs
Nicki
Double check the brake light switch too - I went through 4 in 4 months in my GTI. (The purple ones are the replacement ones for the continually faulty grey ones, if that helps).
GTI Robyn
I have replaced the switch which didnt help, all bulb are ok. So i seemed to have traced the problem to high level light, I cut the wire and now other brake lights are working
g15m0
I replaced the switch 3x now (using the purple replacement ones) and still get the same fault come up. Even tho the brake lights are working =s time to get raped by VW =|
