ponnyj
Hey guys, not sure if this is the right place to put this.Looking to buy a small gravity fed spray gun to replace the crappy one that i got in the kit with my compressor as is not very good, splutters a bit etc.If anyone knows there stuff about guns are there any that people would recommend? Its mainly just for doing small repairs, single panels, maybe single wheels etcI've had a look on the net and seen a few.http://www.screwfix.com/p/metabo-fb2200-gravity-feed-spray-gun/67563 http://www.screwfix.com/p/stanley-gravity-spray-gun-kit-5pcs/27615#http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=120914

Cannonball
DeVilbiss are excellent guns.Used a Sealey gun a few times and like most others they are ok if you clean and look after them !Why is yours spitting ? Is it pressure related ?
JoshB&D
SATA and DeVilbiss are your top choice.if your after a good finish id steer clear of the cheap guns.if your just doing small repairs, either a DeVilbiss SRI or a SATA mini jet would be alright.get on ebay and have a search, i picked a SATA mini jet up for 75 quid so for the extra 30 youd spend on a cheap gun, its worth it!if you dont know a lot about guns, then id go for the DeVilbiss SRi , easy to work with and break down to cleanSata's are abit complicated... ponnyj
Cheers guys I'll have a look on ebay today.the one that came with my kit is a suciton one from halfords..... explains it all,its just shoddy quality really.
99hjhm
Sata and DeVillbis are overkill for DIY, it's more the painter than the gun at this level. Most guns like that will be HVLP so need a good compressor, not a Halfords one.I use Sealey HVLP guns at work, I only paint parts though, not panels. Sata guns are way heavy, and expensive if they go wrong.
Scott_Thomson
I use DeVilbiss at work, tried Sata and wasnt very keen on them. Tried Iwata too and they are reasonably good. Have a look on here, www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk Would like to give the DeVilbiss Starting Line a go, heard that its brilliant value for money.Scott
