Might have to dust off the old PS2 again tongue.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Been ages since I played GT4. Got loads of cars in it, but kind of ran out of steam and intest now it's all the stupid 24hr endurance things.

I'm fairly sure I can beat my old time now though tongue.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I'm not sure any of my previous laps were perfect wink.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Well in that case you should be easily capable of doing a lap where you don't cut that corner and still beat my valid time. wink.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Seriously, if it's Adenauer-Forst, it's a huge time gain - way more than 2 seconds if you cut it fully. You're basically missing out two slow second-gear corners and instead going flat-out in a straight line.

Incidentally, I presume you're not riding the barriers on the bridges down by Wehrseifen - that would gain you a good few seconds too.

no not riding any barriers. i think if i didnt do the cut i could just equal your time.

in terms of how fast i can drive nurburgring strictly on licence test i have got a saved ranking times with silver cups on the special licence on 3 runs i got

7'18.810

7'18.802

7'18.693

i think 7'18 is where my time is at lol. would love to get a gold on this. would need a bit more patience.

It's HD, so it's very very clear indeed smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Projectors cost anything from about 500 quid to 50,000 quid. That one was around 1400 quid. Built the screen myself, cost about 20 quid.

You can get BBC HD on Freeview in Central London - it won't happen country-wide until the analogue switch-off occurs, there isn't enough bandwidth.

I doubt I'll get it straight away, the GT games aren't realistic enough for me to spend serious money on, and I can play the decent PC proper simulations in HD already.

Grand Theft Auto might persuade me to buy a PS3... but probably not at the likely price point.

cool. well i think gt5 will be more realistic. but surely it will have the best graphics of any other driving simulaton?

ps3 will be worth it for the blueray?

People who buy consoles won't buy realistic driving games. Realistic driving games don't flatter you.

As for graphics - meh. Doesn't really sell me on a game, I'd rather have good gameplay and average graphics than average gameplay and good graphics. Put all the bump-mapping and multiple dynamic light sources in you want, it still doesn't make it good to play.

Blu-ray will only be worth it if Blu-ray beats HD-DVD as the standard of choice. If not, it'll just be another Minidisc.
