sharpercarper
Just wondering if it's possible to put a GTI bodykit or GTI bumpers on a 1.0L lupo?if possible, where can i get these from? Thanks
Silver!
It's not a body kit, but ewntirely different body panels.Whilst nothing is impossible, I think in general, there is too much work to consider putting GTI bits on a non GTI.Reiger do a kit which is reminiscent of a GTI though...http://www.express-enterprise.co.uk/vw-vw-lupo-c-21_193_43_99.html

HalfOfZero
The front end is a little different... In the sense it's completely different.People say they're gonna do this all the time. The parts are expensive, some people finish there. For those who do manage to buy the parts, shortly after they give up due to the difficulty.. Just don't do it bud, too much work for very little outcome. Get Gti interior? And Bathursts

jamiea7x
i remember there was a car about a while ago who done a balls out gti body conversion on a tdi, cost him thousands, on top of the price of the tdi, it would have been faaaaaar easier and far cheaper and a far better outcome buying a knackered gti and sticking a tdi engine in it, dumb ****
Silver!
I think Pete has a 1.0 in his GTI shell...I worked with a guy who's son bought an Escort RS. Couldn't afford the insurance, so put in a standard 1300\1400 until he could. When he went to insure it and they still loaded it like an RS. Their excuse being that a thief wouldn't know it was a lesser powered car so would steal it anyhow. And probably torch it after taking the sellable bits off.I think re-engined GTI would still incur the same tax pricing.
scotty_82
Yeah the insurance would be high but after grafting on all of the panels on a non gti plus the respray plus the cost of modified insurance etc etc etc it would probably work out far less stressful to buy a gti with a bust engine and put something smaller in lol
