Derv
Does anyone know the difference in weight between electric window mechanisms and manual winders?Has anyone got complete doors detached from a Lupo to weigh to give an indication? Defcon5
No idea as to your actual question, but if its lightness you are after, the GTI has aluminium doors
truCido
Manual - 1.6kgElectric - Motor weighs just shy of 900g, plus pretty much the above so about 2.5kg (I don't have the full mech just the motors) Edited November 14, 2011 by truCido
Derv
From what I could make out the mechanism is the same for both, it is just operated by a winder handle or a motor. It was the different part numbers for electric vs manual doors that confused me for a bit. But I guess the only difference is the hole punched for the winder handle. The last time I dealt with manual window winders was on a car from 1985. But 900g is a significant amount of weight x2. Thanks for that, truCido. It's food for thought.
