De-locking Lupo boot?

Recommended Posts

Have searched on here & google but can't find owt, thinking of de-locking my boot as it has a tailgate from another car with a different lock which I don't have a key for so the lock's neither user nor ornament. I know there's de-lock kits available for the doors but what about boots? Any recommendations how to go about this? e.g. Any kits you know of for boots? Or just skim over it?

Thanking y'all muchly in advance :D

Not a lot of use to you but I've just scored myself a smooooothed tailgate off ebay. Going to pick it up tomorrow, hopefully get it sprayed up at autohaus in the next few weeks. But, failing smoothing or delocking why not get yourself a boot popper? I fitted 1 in my mk2 golf an its a peice of p**s to do

Don't really want to lose the handle, just the lock. Ideal would be Mk5 Golf stylee badge handle but that'd be far too complicated & expensive, one day maybe!

  • 2 weeks later...

I've had a brainwave...will the lock barrel from the doors fit in the boot? cos then I can delock the passenger door & the boot lock will actually work so it won't annoy the hell out of me by being utterly pointless.

Actually I've had 2 brainwaves, 2010 caddy/transporter tailgate handle looks the same shape but without the lock - any idea if it will fit?

This is just a chrome cover but pic shows the handle:

...and one for older caddy/T5 which looks suspiciously exactly the same as the lupo:

Hmmm....
