The one I had had done 112,000 miles and rolling roaded it carried 161bhp. And it wasn't fiddled with it at the time. Not all redtops have been ragged silly so you can't really say across the board they're all under power. I reckon the extra 50kgs would make quite a difference on such a small car.

Corsa C's with Z20LET motors go well. Seen a few with Saab motors and they are a very cheap way of going fast. Infact Vauxhalls full stop are a cheap way of going quickly.

Yep, theres a lad down road from me just had a total vauxhall feature with a opel caddett, that had a astra vxr lump in. Ran a 13.2 at pod at pvs. Goes very well. Got engine and box with less than 40k on for under £700, talk about a bargain!

A mate of mines got a corsa C with an astra gsi engine with it but running various vxr parts (turbo, injectors etc I think) and that's running not far off 300bhp, goes like stink.

I dont even think there would be 50kg difference, probably closer to 30kg !!

I have lifted / moved both engines (with a friend) and there don't feel like there was much in it.

It was a guy on CorsaSport who was meant to have weighed them.

I have a stripped Nova redtop, the most fun car I have ever driven. And being so light it is pretty damn fast! Not much came past me out on track last time. Infact down the straight I passed a 225bhp Leon cupra r on full chat. The engine is superb. It is very driveable yet when the loud pedal hits the floor it will embarrass many more expensive cars. A limited slip diff is recommended though. Wheelspin can get a little excessive at times.
