Ashh
Looking at some apex springs(40mm front & rear) on KamRacing, just wondering if anybody has used them before with standard shocks? If not does anybody know how the car would handle and if the shocks would be affected in any way?Cheers, Ash. clicks
sorry to hijack the thread but how does this cutting business work? sorry if its a silly question
mini-man-dan
Dont... It doesnt work, it ruins the spring rate and can weaken the springs. If you want a dangerous car that handles like an elephant on water, then cut them. However, Ive got eibach springs on my gti and they are superb. I think apex also have good reviews

vince172
Had apex on my Clio 172, before coils- very stiff springs, but do normally give you the 'quoted' drop, most springs don't! Handling was amazing on my 172.
Ashh
Yeah I won't be cutting them, almost sure even standard springs are progressively wound...Cheers for the useful answers, they'll be ordered Tuesday!
Ashh
Also, any ideas on how the standard shocks will take to the change?!Cheers, ash.
JamesTdi
LOL, note the sarcasm in my first post...And I have coilovers, not just cut my springs In reply to how the shocks will cope, deponds on the drops. 60mm springs and say good buy to your dampers and hello to a new set.
