Hand-held OBDII reader Vs. VAG-COM

Hi all,

Looking at investing in something to read fault codes from VAG group cars (I've had three VW's in the past 4 years and each one has needed diagnostics for one reason or another).

Leaning toward a hand-held Vs. investing in / acquiring  some form of VAG-COM system.

Anyone have experience / comments on something like this? : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vagcom-Diagnostic-Scanner-Audi-VW-VAG5053-CAN-BUS-/120695293468?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1c1a00061c#ht_500wt_1092

Cheers,

Ryan

Vag com now called vcds is quality

But at around 200 quid for the registered version it isnt cheap

You can read fault codes, clear them

Also you can make some changes

I enabled anti - hijack (doors lock at 15mph)

Alarm bleeps on lock and unlock

And one touch locking that opens all doors on one key fob press
