LupoGTiNAB
When pulling away, just as the clutch hits the bite, there's a split second noise which I can only describe as a metal garden gate opening as if metal is on metal somewhere. It's more apparent when the car is cold. Any ideas?AND ALSO... When cold again the engine ticking over sounds like the belts are louder than nirmal. LupoGTiNAB
Are you able to get a video?erm, should be able to but only for the second noise. I'll try and upload tomorrow. The first noise when hitting the bite is faint and doubt it could be picked up on video.
ChristopherReeve
it could be a real worn clutch plate...
Mike_M
When was the aux drive belt done as it usually gets overlooked come cambelt time.Mine used to be noisey and changed the belt and all went fine. The noise in the gearbox sounds like a faulty clutch release bearing.......they tend to fail more so if you hold the clutch down a lot at lights (riding the clutch). I changed mine and it was shot due tothe previour owner doing this.........I changed the clutch plate etc while i was at it due to it have to all come off anyway.
