gtibeave Posted December 28, 2009 Report Share Posted December 28, 2009 hey all advice needed, the cable that releases the bonnet catch has broken at the bonnet side so cant lift the bonnet. took the front grill off and cant release the rear lock. any ideas? Mike_M Posted December 28, 2009 Report Share Posted December 28, 2009 I had repositioned my cable in the engine bay and it has released a lot of stress that the original position give and where before it felt like the bonnet release was going to break everytime I opened it, it now pops with ease and without the strain. Mitchell Posted January 15, 2010 Report Share Posted January 15, 2010 you can't get at the lock mech from under the car ,only the cable, it's a nightmare to tell you over the internet basically with the vw badge/grille removed it is possible to nudge part of the mechanism to open it.
