Tigz™
I havn't a diagram, nor have I looked but I would imagen if you connected directly to the switch, (there should be 2 wires in, and 2 wires out) then take it to a spare slot in the fuse bourd, then up to your boost gauge.Hopefully Snoop will come accross the diagram though in the mean time.Make sure you fuse it though mate, other wise you could damage both your switch and the gauge.:Edit: Think about it there may be 2 wires in and 3 out.The dash lights are connected to possision 2 on the switch anyway, Id imagen there'd be an out for the sidelamps, and 1 for the dash lights, then another out for the headlamps. Snoopy
You can find the VW wiring diagrams for the light switch in this thread - click 'Wiring'.Any chance you could make your avatar smaller? Kinda breaks up the flow of the thread...
M1 Lupo
How about finding the orange wire that goes to the ISO connectors on the stereo? The one that tells the stereo to illuminate its fascia.Use that to switch a relay for the gauge lighting.
Snoopy
That wire's dimmed - if the gauge uses a `EL-type` backlight, it may not work correctly (i.e. you dim the dashboard and the gauge light goes from `full-on` to `full-off`).Not a major issue, but worth checking. M1 Lupo
Like I said, use it to switch a relay. That way its only using minimal power to energise the coil of the relay and the dial lighting is going to be fed with power from elsewhere. Thats the way I illuminated my Vacuum guage.
