Gti headlight Removal

Recommended Posts

Anyone know how to do this? My lights need adjusting but it's not up/down. They need to go left/right and the adjuster doesn't seem to do anything. Also i need to check if one of the bulbs have blown cos one day tit was on and the next ot wasn't. Already checked fuses (well can't really tell from the diagram on the back of the cover). They're ok . Just hope you don't have to stripthe front off the car. :?

you gotta take the bumper off to get the headlight out.

there is a ball and socket inside the headlight, that has prolly popped off, and thats why you cant get any adjustment

a new bulb is pretty £££ and you need to remove the back of the headlight to get it out

it is gonna be a pain in the ass if you not sure on what you doing, the problem is the headlight sprayers get caught on the bumper stiffener, but other than that its quite easy

remove the grille and you will c three bolts holding the bumper on there, one more by each headlight and a few under the arches. there are also two bigger bolts behind the towing eye covers and a few under by the radiator section holding on the under tray

then just give the bumper a good tug on each side sliding it in a forward motion and it unclips of the fenders, then wiggle to get the headlight sprayers out (make sure you disconnect the pipes) and its off
