Your handbook will state the VW standard required.I personally like Mobil1 though I've got VW stuff in the GTi and Magnatec in the Arosa at the mo'.RayJust while I'm here I'll share this bookmark I have... Petes 16V Sport Posted March 18, 2008 Report Share Posted March 18, 2008 VW 500.01/02VW Synta Gold is good stuff (fully synthetic) - and you can ask the dealer to put it in.Shell Helix Ultra is my oil of preference though. Very good oil. good viscosity characteristics (5w-40) and has some fancy additives. I believe at some point I should start advertising mobil 1 as i'll be making the stuff next year. lol.
