  1. I need to get the thermostat replaced + coolant (as its brown) on a Lupo 1.4 16v (75hp) engine code: AHW I have been given G12 plus (1.5 ltrs) - how many bottles of this will I need & will the system need to be flushed before filling with new coolant? Also is it ok to use longlife III (5w 30) 504.00/507.00 on this engine with a 10,000 mile drain. Many Thanks!
  2. Hi all, I am looking to buy a Lupo 1.4 16V Sport. However I noticed that the heater only seems to work when driving at 60/70mph. At 30/40mph or stationary it'll only blow cold air through the vents. The temp guage sits at 90 degrees where it should once warmed up and the engine sounds and runs the way it should - smooth. However the owner mentioned she let the car overheat last summer and ignored the warning lights on the dash. When the car went into the garage they found out the water pump had failed. As a result the cambelt & waterpump was replaced. My question is could the overheating and cold air through the vents possibly mean a new cylinder head? This car has got 55,000 miles with regular services. Any advice is appreciated.
  3. Thanks for all your suggestions people...much appreciated!
  4. Hi all, What grade of oil is used for the 1.4 16v sport? I am about to buy this car so thought an oil change might be a good place to start. Many Thanks!

    Hello

Hi all at club Lupo! I am just about to purchase an X reg Lupo 16v sport. There have one or two questions about this car as I went to check it out today ; Firstly the heater in the car does not seem to work as well as it should...ie it works when doing 60/70mph or above but goes completely cold during town driving or stationary. The temp guage sits at 90 degrees where it should do & the car runs fine with no odd noises. Secondly the clutch pedal seems to be pretty stiff with a biting point pretty close to the floor. Is this common.....or could this mean a new clutch? The car has only done 55,000 miles with regular servicing and has had the water pump & cambelt done recently. Many thanks in advance....look forward to hearing from you.
