MattyB
My mate has just put 17" Audi TT wheels on this Bora (looking very nice too) - pictures can be seen here:http://www.moddedcars.com/bora/bora1.jpghttp://www.moddedcars.com/bora/bora2.jpghttp://www.moddedcars.com/bora/bora3.jpghttp://www.moddedcars.com/bora/bora4.jpgAnd out of interest, we put them against my GTi - there is no way in the world 17's are going to go on that car without shitloads of rubbing and a severly reduced full lock.Ok, these were 7.5x17's (very wide) with 225/45 tyres, so a 40 or 35 profile would help, but even so I think your going to have serious problems...I think I'm going to stick with 16's should I upgrade...easier/cheaper and will retain the handling...Just thought I'd let you all know style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Blue Loop
I am gettin 16's when i change. Man3
As i said in a previous post, on a GTI 205/40 17's fit without a problem. We tried it again the other day and got people bouncing up and down on the back and they didn't rub at all (it was close though) and bear in mind that mines lowered about 45mm all round, so long as they're the right offset (more or less) it should be fine. The side wall on a 225/45 is gonna be quite a bit bigger than a 205/40 (about 19mm overall) I know what you mean about the handling issue, I really like Superleggera's which is a bit of an advantage cos a 17'' superleggera weighs a little bit less than any other wheel in a 16''. You could always get 17's and put the old wheels back on for when you wanna give the loop a good thrashing at track days and `b-road` blasts. Still can't make up my mind though! Loopy Lupo
Any of you guys thought about fitting brock 16" alloys and going a bit more "euro" - i think they look pretty cool - especially if you drop the suspension! Not a bad deal at £780 all in either. What do you think??
MattyB
I have a picture of a black Gti with 16" Brock's on... border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />Not lowered, but they look just about perfect `size-wise`...I didn't like those wheels, but I think they look quite nice on the Loop! Loopy Lupo
I agree, these look pretty nice - almost Porsche like (if you squint!) The Brocks I like are like the ones fitted to the Dubsport VR6 Lupo, and they're called B1's (I think). Time to start saving those pennies I guess! MattyB
Looked at Brock's for my Sisters Arosa (her boyfriend, the guy who owns the above Bora - he loves em) and they come in *rediculously* wide sizes!! like 8x16 and things like that...Probably why they've got them on the VR6, to fill out those huge arches!
