  1. I'd raise that up straight away, you'll feck your driveshafts in absolutely no time! Regardless of how much metal you cut out! I'm a bit shocked that you did this n the first place to be honest! Just because it will go that low, doesn't mean its safe to! What sort of camber is it running? If its too much, it could feck your wheelbearings as well!
  2. They'll be alright! They aren't amped, runnin off the headunit and faded right down, they aint takin any abuse! Certainly not at the moment, my head hurts! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  3. QUOTE(philbee)I will never buy a VW again. You and me both! VW are ****ers!
  4. QUOTE(MattyB)I gather your running an Amp then George?Strange really, I'd only expect to have to replace the batter/alternator if running 2 amps or a really MONSTER amp...? MONSTER amps, you'll need a battery or power cap, when i crank my fusion right up the lights dim to practically nothin, everythin, xenons, sides, dash, HU. I'd get a cap but seein as the loops goin, i can't be bothered! Any one wanna buy a sub n amp with custom lupo box? V V loud! Although after 'hell is for heroes' last nite my ears are feeling a bit fragile! Won't be crankin up the sounds today, thats for certain!
  5. My local dealer didn't batt an eyelid at sorting my washers, despite the fact that the previous owner had araldited one of the caps shut!
  6. No it doesn't! They're tight old lovely persons! 12.5% discount! Dunno why they ****in bother! Half the time i don't bother with discount as its not worth the paper work. Anyone could have got that mStation for £80, that was retail!!!! They just wanna get rid of em cos they can't give a warranty as they've gone bust!
  7. I had a look in the reference charts that garages use when i got my koni's and the recommended setting is Zero. Works fine for me!
  8. They're meant to be expensive, but seeing as Traxaudio have gone bust, i picked an `ex-display` unit up for £80 instead of the £600 retail price, workin Titspeed at weekends finally has some plus points! Still not installed, gonna wait til i get my new car!
  9. I've now got an mStation! For those not in the know, its basically a 10GB hard disc that you mount in your car and holds 3000+ tracks in MP3 format. You get a docking station for your car and pc and when you wanna add more tracks you dock it in your PC and use real jukebox to download the tracks onto the drive. People have got 100 albums on them with room to spare. You also get a small screen and controller which you mount in the front of the car. The screen shows all the info such a folder names and track names. You can run it either directly in to an amp and bin your headunit, you can run it through an Aux in on your headunit or if you don't have either of these you can run it through an RF modulator so your headunit recieves it as a radio signal. The first ones they made got mixed reviews with people saying that you could hear them chugging away through the disc but i've got a MK2 one which is a lot quiter. I haven't managed to fit it yet but i will the first chance i get, i'm also waiting for a lead to connect it to my HU.
  10. cheers for that! damn i'm good! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> The original idea was for the install to be level with the opening of the boot but the sub was too god damn big! The magnet on it's a 200 oz jobbie, kin huge! Had to be a bit of a compromise in the end! The size of the box is spot on though, theres a baffle inside the box, about an inch from the end to make it the exact right size. I would have liked to do an install with glass fibre and the like but i need it to be easily removable for track days, although its a two man lift for the one thats in there so it hardly easily removable!

  12. No need to worry! Absolutely rattle free! I get an occasional rattle from the front door where the connector for the factory fit speakers is dangling, i just need to tape it down! I'm too lazy though! It only starts to rattle at about the same time ur brain starts rattling in ur head! I wanna get some sound deadening but its weight that i can't remove come track day time unless i bin it! I don't wanna waste the money. I guess if i don't go over board it shouldn't be too heavy. ???
  13. Its been mentioned in a couple of other posts but the boot install consists of a 12'' Fusion Power Plant sub and a Fusion FR1404 `4-channel` amp (running the sub and my MB Quart components in the front). I've got some pics if anyone fancies hosting them for me on their webspace, cos i don't have any! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  14. ...For now! I finally finished my install last night, i've had a few finishing touches to make for what seems like months, what with bein on holiday and everything! Anyway finally finished it last night, its fully removable, but you wouldn't know it unless you looked really closely. Feck me is it loud style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Just need to get me another amp now! If only i had some money! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  15. Its quite simple really, although need to be quite good with your hands (believe me ladies, i am! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> ) You would also need a table saw to cut some of the mitres accurately. I `e-mailed` some pics to matt, maybe he could post them. Alternatively i could make you one for a reasonable price! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  16. Haven't decided yet! I've still got quite a bit of space (for a lupo!) in my boot due to having a single twelve and a clever box design. All the space i've got left is above the sub n amp though. I might fix it to the underside of my MDF shelf (if its big enough or i'll stand it on its end down the side of the boot. The other option is that is suspend it from the bottom of the dash and make a panel to tidy it all up and hide it away from thievin bastids! I'll have to have a play around with it before i buy a screen just to make sure i can fit it somewhere! I can't put it where the battery is cos my sub box covers the entire floor. I don't wanna have to lift my sub n amp out every time i wanna change the disc or turn it on!
  17. Any decent audio shop should have the VAG release keys, we've got a set at Ripspeed and think its possible to order a set for yourself for not much money. I'm only speakin on the behalf of the store i work at and we lend em to people all the time so they can do it in the car park. Best idea is to just ask around cos you know VW would charge you, i wouldn't be surprised if they charged you to breath air in their showroom!
  18. Another good set of components to try is MB Quarts, they do three different ranges depending on how much you want to spend. I've got some in the front, running off a Fusion amp and they sound amazing! All i had to do to fit them was make a spacer ring for the mids and redrill the doors and you can use the existing tweeter mounts, you just need prize them apart from the original tweeters. I'm gonna get another set to replace the alpines i've got in there at the mo and get another amp to run them and ditch the 6x9's i've got. I'll probably get a fusion two channel or D class to run the sub and then use the other two channels on my 4 channel amp to run the components. Then i think its time to put the PS2 in with a screen and a signal processor, that way i'll have a PS2, a dvd player and seeing as the PS2 has a DTS processor i'll have surround sound as well! I'll just have to find somewhere to put a centre channel speaker! I guess ill have to get busy with the glass fibre and mould it to the dash. Only thing is, i don't want it to be seen! The only visible part of my system at the mo is my crossovers, and thats the way i want it to stay, STEALTHY! Banish the thieving scumbags!
  19. Doh! Should have read that before i replied to the other thread! Sounds like its the same thing that happened to mine, its just that mine did more damage! Check the gearbox casing n make sure that there aren't any cracks in it!
  20. Also, if you had called VW assistance they would have arranged a courtesy car for you, or another means of getting home.
  21. crap me!!!! Not you as well!!!! It'd be interesting to see if its the same problem that i had! I've got mine back with a complete new clutch n gearbox now after a lot of hassle with VW (i think it was the dealers being arseholes more than anything!) If you have any trouble getting it sorted, let me know and i'll see if i can help. How many miles had it done?
  22. I know what you mean about the Ka not being as bad, mine wasn't either! I've put it down to not actually being able to go fast enough! I doubt it would catch up with bugs, let alone drive through them! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  23. You got yorself a bargain there! They retail at £500 normally, i wanted one of those but couldn't quite stretch to it! I got the next one down, the only difference is that on yours you can black out the display so that there is more power goin to the speakers, how cool is that! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
