buying a second hand gti

Nothing stands out with problems with the gti apart from the timing belt tensioners failling

after that just look for all the things you would with ever other car.

When I was looking 2 out of 3 GTI's I saw had poor accident repair work but were hpi clear. You really need to spend a lot of time checking the body work over and having a good look and feel around.

Rear spoiler light can get water into it and stop working. Paint on rear boot handle can flake (don't let that put you off). Check the Xenons and washers work. 2 keys and the immobiliser codes would be useful.

A Tip: The black casing for the Xenon Lights has a yellow sticker on it with a date of manufacture - ask questions if the date is after the car was first registered (note: the date can be different one side to the other)

wow at you finding 3 gti to look over. i waited ages for 1 to turn up for sale.
