RallyeBaz
Drove home from work tonight about 30 miles and went to Halfords to get my new no. plates made and when I came back the car was dead. The dashboard lights came on but would not turn overThe AA turned up and reckons its the immobiliser. Within seconds he got the car started by by passing it.Tried another key fob outside VW tonight and the cars still dead.Anyone had this problem and turn around times to fix it?? i99y
Same thing happened to me a few months ago and when VERVE got it they found the fault to be a speed sensor or summit like that. Amazing on how a small thing can cause such a big problem!! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

RallyeBaz
Stock the clock Anneka !!!When I first spoke to VW it sounded like they could not fit it in for a while. Get a call 2 hours later saying they have fixed it and it was the ignition switch.Mentioned about the clutch pedal laying on the floor and they reckon this is not a common fault
beer monsta
VW claim the first roof mechanism on the NB cabrio wasnt a poor design as well - you try and find a car witht he original locking system though - all replaced within weeks.VW if you remember also denied there being an issue with Coil packs - VW usa did a recal - VWuk did no such thing and did very little work on the issue. In general your VW dealer will deny anything, in fact I once accused mine of being competent and they denied that!!!!!! No seriously get them to look at your clutch because it could be an expensive problem if your warrenty lapses before it is fixed.
twisty b-road
They also claimed that there wasn't a problem with the door locks on Golfs, Boras and Passats until it was on Watchdog. Then they slagged Watchdog off for publicising it, and promptly charged customers for new locks.
