lunalupi
From memory, it should be within the indent, about halfway to be right.....Think the owners manual should tell you somewhere - unless thats just Arosas, as I'm sure mine tells you how to check the oil level. Tigz™
Check it with the engine warm and on a leval surface style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
lunalupi
I thought it was always supposed to be with the engine cold...?
nfbr
To answer the question - Yes the hatched section is what to look for.As a general rule, keep it just above half way on that section, as Andi said, do it when the engien is warm, and with the car on a perfectly flat surface, and dont overfill the oil or you may end up with something like this...http://red4est.red4est.com/miata/piston040710/PICT2821N.jpg <-- thats a piston incase you can't tell... Tigz™
Sorry I dont know how I worded that lolWhat I should have said is.Make sure its on a level service.Start the engine, and let it run a minute.Switch off the engine check and top up oil.Warm up engine to operating temp and ensure its not over the second line.
