emo_gazz
I know ive asked this before and i dont think anyone answered but i dunno whats wrong. The light only works when i turn it on manually and not when the car doors open. Does anyone know why this might be?
cardaft
And i think i answered you before aswel lol, but here goes, if it works on some doors then its probabbly the switch which i think is in the door catch, if it doesnt work atall with any doors then maybe a fues or a bad connection in the light switch itself. regulator
not sure if you knew this and sorry if you do but, is the switch set on the right position, the one which activates it when the door opens. If not, maybe a sensor which detects when the door is open and then activates the light?? cardaft
One way to test the switch on the dorr is to turn on the side lights and see if the buzzer works when you open the door, if it does its not the switch.
emo_gazz
yeah its on the middle settin with the little pic of the car with the door open.Ive checked the wires to the light and all seem ok but not the ones runnin to the door. Are they behind that rubber connecting from the car to the door?
cardaft
Im not sure about the wires, the switch went on mine but it was replaced under waranty

regulator
Are they behind that rubber connecting from the car to the door?Yes, the wires are likely to be in the rubber gromet thing in the door. I did see some when I ran the tweeter wires through there. Unless its a sensor, in which case I'm not sure where it would be ... maybe on the clip which holds the door shut?? (sori not sure of the technical word.)

Robert
I believe some Arosa's don't have the sensor on the passenger door
regulator
Come to think of it, they could have also used a switch, like some cupboards do so, when they open the light is on but when the door is closed, it pushes the switch breaking the circuit and so switching the light off, but I doubt that this would be so.
