Dare
What temp does your gti's run at? Presty
Mine seems to always read about halfway, never higher, i think the fan has only cut in once!!
bossjohnc
Yeah, mine gets to 90C and stays there, rock solid - doesn't move up or down.
Adam
mines stays in the middle too, depending on the temperature outside it may take longer to get there if its colder, quicker if its warmer.
Ty
as above... never had any trouble with the temp just stays mid way!
Snoopy
The gauge is designed to stay at 90 as long as the car is running within normal tolerance. At a guess I'd say any temperature between 80 and 105 degrees will result in it staying pegged at exactly 90.If it's reading over, it either means the instrument cluster is up the swanee, the temperature sensor is knackered, or it's actually overheating. In any case, worth getting it checked out if it's under warranty.Have you heard the fan kick in recently?
D7 YME
same with mine half way Edited July 14, 2005 by D7 YME
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI
Mine has always sat bang on half way on the gauge. Driven in -8 to +32 celcius and the gauge never moves. Been flat out for 5 minutes then stopped idling for 10 minutes and still the gauge never moved!Think I have only heard the fan running 5 times in 58000 miles. tdwindustries
I think the temp gauge in the dash varies depending on how hot or cold it is outside!as its in the bumper it will read high/low as its not really outside. As you drive it should even itself out to be the correct temp....
