martineaster
What is the recommended idle speec for a Lupo 1.4. Mine's running at 500 rpm - is that too low?
T5POL
Yeah that sounds low! It should be around 900rpm iirc. Edited July 1, 2005 by T5POL
RobinA3
i think it should be between 875rpm to 925rpm or something near there500 is way too low.the idling can only be set by VW's vagcom software.
RobinA3
or you could try disconnecting the battery for an hour or so to see if it goes back to the standard idling speed
Blackrat
sounds like you got a pipe leaking somewhere, i doubt the idle will just go out of sinc , you had any engine work done to it ?when the car is cold it should idle just abouve 1k then drop down to 900 ish
Snoopy
Does it *sound* as though it's running at 500rpm? Other possibility is that the instrument cluster has lost it's calibration, so is reading 400rpm less than the engine's actually doing... Bikerz
my sport idles about 800rpm according to the dial
Ryn
500 def sounds too low, if it idling at that speed the engine surely is struggling and would feel like it's going to stall? Try disconnecting the battery for a wee while, if it doesn't sort itself then it's a trip to the garage mate style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
