Adam0801
Hi everyone I'm new here sorry to jump straight into asking for help. Well I have a seat arosa 1.0 I have bought as a project. It's done 70000 miles. Anyway I have a engine problem it has a very rough idle sits at around 550-650. I have changed the leads. Sparks plugs and coil pack. Also noticed the old spark plugs were black with cylinder one being wet with fuel smell. Also if i pull cylinder one it makes no difference at all. Is my next step a compression test as I have read the exhaust valves are a common problem on these engines. This is my first car project I usually stick to motocross or supermoto bikes. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Adam
Sausage
Any time there is misfire do a compression test ideally before spending money on bits. As you have an odd plug it is good indicator for mechanical problem. Edited January 21, 2017 by Sausage
Adam0801
Thanks for the reply Yea I'll do one then. I've also blanked off the egr. It's not back firing or anything at revs just a constant shake
