lupo_ro
Hello guys! Yesterday, when I start the car outside was -15 degrees C (I am from Romania, here is very cold right now). I started running the car and when I pass 2000 rpm oil light is blinking. I changed oil back in November and it was Castrol 5w40 c3 and since then I haven't no problems . I checked oil level-ok. What do you think about this? Thanks! Edited January 4, 2016 by lupo_ro
Skezza
Possibly the oil pressure switch, although you're using a surprisingly thick oil for your climate. -15 degrees C VW almost certainly recommend 5w30. Does it do it when it's warm, or only when it's cold? I just wonder if your oil pump is struggling......
lupo_ro
No matter if the engine is cold or hot, does the same problem. Over 2000 rpm the oil light blinking
Skezza
Hmm, I reckon it's possibly the oil pressure switch. No leaks in the crank case is there?
lupo_ro
No leaks under the car, since yesterday when I parked it.
lupo_ro
The car don't feels different. No other problems. I think too the oil pressure switch is the problem.
cj1
Not been able to get a copy of VCDS or a fault scanner when the light is on? Worth a go a guess, but yes most likely oil pressure switch
lupo_ro
Tomorrow I will mesure the oil pressure inside the engine. It should be around 2 psi at 2000 rpm, am I right? Edited January 4, 2016 by lupo_ro
