lupo gti alternator clutch pulley?

Hello guys,

Does anybody know if Lupo gti alternators use a clutch pulley, or not?

I have a weird noise coming from that end of the engine when cold (not present with aux belt removed).

Sounds *a bit* like this:

Spoke to my local VW place today, they recon that some alternators that fit the gti do have a clutch pulley, some don't...

My pulley turns the alternator both ways, so its either a knackered clutch type, or if its not a clutch type the problem is not the alternator

Any help appreciated.

As it turns out, my GTI doesn't have an alternator clutch - although many Lupo's do.

Has anybody tried to change the tensioner pulley using one of these spares?
