Mr.Badbrains
So I read that for gti FHE 5v tranny the oil fill capacity is 1,9 liters. I managed to get just 1,2 liters in.Car's pretty much level on jack stands and I idled the car on first gear for several minutes after first fill, but still couldn't get any more oil in (starts to drip out of the fill hole). What do you guys suggest I should try next. Maybe jacking up the rear of the car higher than front would allow more oil get in???
Pete
If you can't get anymore in then I doubt you'll get anymore in! No point over filling the box, it's likely either the capacity you read is wrong or you simply didn't drain the box fully buddy.
Mr.Badbrains
Thanks, thats what I thought. I was clever enough to measure that oil I drained from the box; 1,6 liters and some went to the floor and my hands etc. so I definitely got more oil out than in. Weird thing is when I first opened the fill plug, oil just shot out there.
Pete
Have you checked to see if your breather is blocked?
Mr.Badbrains
Have you checked to see if your breather is blocked? No, I'll check that out if I can find it. These 02t boxes are so weird, took me a while to even find that fill plug.
Mr.Badbrains
Jacked up the rear of the car more and managed to get plenty more oil in (fill plug is towards the rear). Still not that 1,9L but close enough.
